Senegal Preview & Team News
The Senegalese side are enjoying a rich vein of form at the perfect time, and their win against Tanzania was their seventh straight win. They beat Nigeria in a friendly just before the start of the tournament and have hit the ground running in Group C. Keita Balde opened the scoring on Sunday and Krepin Diatta got the second goal to secure the win. Senegal are Africa’s highest racking team in the World Rankings and they have high hopes of winning this tournament, so a win here would see them go into the latter stages of the competition with their tails up.
It is unlikely that manager Aliou Cissé will make any changes to the starting 11 that were so impressive against Tanzania at the weekend, so Everton’s Idrissa Gueye will be the anchor in midfield with Niang providing the attacking threat and Saido Mane giving his obvious class out wide.
Algeria Preview & Team News
Tonight’s opponents Algeria have also been in great form and they too won 2-0 in their opening match. Goals from Baghdad Bounedjah and Riyad Mahrez secured a comfortable 2-0 win against Kenya and this fixture tonight looks set to decide who will win Group C. The Algerian’s also went into the African Cup of Nations in good form, winning five and drawing two of their last seven matches.
Manchester City’s Mahrez is the main man for Algeria but they have a good squad in Egypt and it would be no surprise to see them go deep into the tournament. Islam Slimani hasn’t been able to force his way into this team so he’s likely to have to settle for a place on the bench once again.
Senegal vs Algeria Predictions
It looks hard to separate these sides and we’re predicting neither of them will relinquish their unbeaten run in this match. A draw would probably suit both sides and keep them in the top two positions in the group, and with the likes of Mahrez and Mane taking centre stage, goals look set to be scored. If we were betting on a Senegal vs Algeria prediction for a match result, a draw would be the best bet at odds of 2/1 with BetBull.
However, our top betting tip for this is a both teams to score prediction and it is rather surprising to see the odds so generous for this. You will get 6/5 for this and that looks a great bet.[inline_advert ad=”2″]
