How to Get the Most from Grand National Free Bets
Use them each-way. The Grand National is a 40-runner handicap. The chance of finding the outright winner is slim, even with strong form analysis. Using a free bet each-way on a horse at 20/1 or bigger gives you five chances to collect – win plus four placed positions. Most bookmakers pay 5 places each-way at 1/5 odds on the National.
Check if free bets can be used each-way. Some bookmakers offer free bets that can only be used on win markets. Always check the terms before placing. If you can use a free bet each-way, the value is significantly higher on a big-field race like the National.
