How Betfred’s Extra Place Offer Works
Each day, Betfred will give boosted place terms for selected races. This might be a race where the standard terms are 3 places, Betfred boosts the terms to 4 places, meaning if you bet on a horse each-way and they finish 4th, you would get paid out. Betfred also boost places from 2 to 3, and 4 to 5. You will occasionally see big handicap races get boosted from 5 places to 6 as well, especially in the big meetings.
Can you use Betfred Extra Places on Lucky 15 Bets?
Yes. This is probably the best use of the Betfred horse racing extra place terms offer as well, because if you bet on a lucky 15, 31 or 63 each-way, it is important to get the best possible place terms as it could drastically affect your payout. Even if you get four horses places with each-way terms, the payout would be good on a lucky 15.
For example, Betfred have four extra place races for today, boosting the each-way terms from 3 places to 4, and you pick an each-way bet from each of these races for an EW lucky 15.
Your horses all finish 4th. With Betfred’s boosted places, all four of your bets are winners, but if you didn’t have extra places, your four horses wouldn’t be winners. This is why it is so important to take advantage of extra places for each-way bets.

If you want to check in a Betfred shop, the screens will tell you which races are a part of the offer.
