Aston Villa to win

I think this will be an incredible game, and it was a difficult choice to make on who I think will come out on top. Villa have been excellent so far this season and find themselves in third place in the Premier League. I think home advantage will be huge for the Villains in this one, and I think that will help them on the way to winning all three points. Unai Emery’s side are unbeaten in their last six matches in all competitions, while Arsenal are the same. Something has got to give, but Arsenal almost slipped up last time out against Luton Town, so that coupled with home advantage means I’m backing a Villa win.

I think this one will be a classic and I’m expecting goals between two sides that haven’t lost since the start of November. Arsenal have scored in 22 of their 23 competitive fixtures this season and same for Villa. The home side have scored 34 in the league, with Mikel Arteta’s side bagging one less with 33. They will both be right at it from the off, and I think this is an excellent selection.

 

John McGinn to be booked

In his 15 Premier League appearances so far this season, John McGinn has picked up three yellow cards. He has made 19 fouls, an average of over one per game, and I think he will be in for a difficult afternoon here against the likes of Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard. The Scotsman will be right at the heart of Villa’s drive for three points in this one, and his passion and aggression will shine through, and I expect him to make several fouls. He is great odds to see a card here.
