Reports – Ander Herrera agrees move to PSG in the summer

Although Manchester United might still be boosted by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking the permanent role at Old Trafford on a three-year deal, it appears one of their stars could be on the way out this summer.

The Metro are reporting that midfielder Ander Herrera is eyeing a move to PSG come the end of the season, they also went as far to announce that the Spanish international has agreed a pre-contract agreement with Les Parisiens.

The 29-year-olds current deal at United is set to expire at the end of the season and he is free to negotiate with sides outside of the Premier League.

Ander Herrera on his way to PSG?

One of the players who has really started to shine since Solskjaer’s arrival back in November, Herrera has played a huge part in United’s revival and is a clear fan favourite in Manchester.

In his fifth year with the former Premier League champions, Herrera has picked up four major titles, including the FA Cup in 2016 and the Europa League the following season.

Although United’s new permanent boss has made it no secret that he wants the 29-year-old to extend his stay at Old Trafford, it has been reported that Herrera was unimpressed by the most recent contract offered to him.

Speaking to Norweigan media last month, Solskjaer had discussed Herrera’s importance to the squad and his hope for the club and player to finalize a deal.

“His energy and tenaciousness is vital for us,”

“And that’s why he plays, more or less, every single game. He has loads of energy, he can cover the right-hand side, he runs forward.”

“Let’s hope club and player find an agreement. ‘We will have a strong squad next season. Ander has been very good since I came in.”

It has been suggested that the midfielder was holding out for as much as £200,000-a-week to stay at United, but was offered closer to half that sum.

While United might not be willing to match Herrera’s demands, PSG are eager to tie the Spaniard down and are willing to break the bank in order to do so.

The Daily Record are reporting that the defending Ligue 1 champions are preparing a £170,000-a-week deal to help persuade Herrera to end his tenure at United, this follows their failed attempt to sign Everton’s Idrissia Gueye in January.

With it looking increasingly likely that wantaway midfielder Adrien Rabiot will be leaving the French capital on a free transfer this summer, PSG are desperate to shore up their options in the middle of the park.

Herrera joined United from Athletic Bilbao in 2014 while Louis van Gaal was in charge, making 187 appearances for the club.
