Saturday Afternoon EFL Betting Tips

Swansea vs Hull City Betting Tips

Swansea have been able to turn on the style at home during the latter half of the season, and that’s why they’re the first of our EFL betting tips for April 27th.

The Swans have been victorious in six consecutive home matches, and the Liberty Stadium regulars have had plenty of cheer in recent weeks. They’ve scored at least two goals in each of their last five outings here, and they put four past Rotherham on Good Friday.

Graham Potter’s men are unbeaten in South Wales in 2019, with Aston Villa the last team to be victorious here on Boxing Day.

Hull City are the latest visitors, and the Tigers come off the back of a mauling at the hands of high-flying Sheffield United. Nigel Adkins’ side are usually more reliable at home, but they’ve struggled on the road this campaign.

They’ve lost seven of their last eight on the road, with Ipswich the only side to fail to beat the Tigers on their travels. Hull are occasionally capable of putting in a match-winning performance, and they did beat Leeds at Elland Road just after Christmas, but those performances are few and far between, and their defence is likely to struggle with Swansea’s energy in the final third.

The Humberside outfit have won each of their last five matches against Swansea, but I expect that run to end on Saturday afternoon.

Burton Albion vs Luton Betting Tip – Over 2.5 Goals

After a terrific run of form, it was a forgettable Easter for Burton Albion and Nigel Clough. They were undone on several occasions by relegation-threatened Southend United, but could be considered unlucky to have lost to Pompey.

The Brewers have plenty to offer going forward, and they have netted twelve times in their last four home matches. They will offer a threat in this game, and will be tricky customers for the runaway leaders. March 2nd was the last time that Clough’s men failed to hit the target.

Luton are not defending well at the moment, and they could only draw 2-2 with AFC Wimbledon in midweek. Mick Harford’s men have absolutely sublime this campaign, and they aren’t afraid to pour forward at every opportunity.

They have managed just one clean sheet in five coming into this tie, and their last three away games have contained a total of ten goals. This could be a hugely entertaining 90 minutes.

It’s Burton’s final home game of the season, and they will want to put on a show for their fans. The men from the Pirelli are likely to be promotion candidates next year, and the fans will want to go out on a high here.

It ended 2-0 at the Kennilworth Road earlier in the campaign, but I’m expecting more goals this time around, and Over 2.5 Goals is the second of our betting tips for Saturday afternoon.

Tranmere vs Bury Betting Tip – Tranmere Win

Tranmere have been incredibly difficult to beat at Prenton Park this season, and they should be able to continue that fine form as they host Bury on Saturday afternoon. The Merseysiders are the third of our EFL betting tips for April 27th.

Mickey Mellon’s men slipped up against Forest Green last time out, but they should be able to bounce back here. Prior to that loss, they’d won six in a row, and they can’t afford to take their foot off the gas, with momentum vitally important ahead of the play-offs.

Only Mansfield, and today’s opponents Bury have better home form than Tranmere, and I think they can take advantage of the Shakers’ unconvincing form on the road.

Ryan Lowe’s men have lost their last two away games, shipping three goals in each of those ties, and even if their most recent away victory, they left it extremely late to secure all three points against Stevenage.

They’ve scored 29 and conceded 29 goals on the road, and if they’d have been more reliable on their travels, they’d have already secured automatic promotion to League One.

Tranmere will look to control the game, and their superb back four will look to stop Bury from hitting the back of the net here.

Tranmere should be able to collect three points in this crucial contest.
