West Brom vs Nottingham Forest Predictions and Betting Tips: Championship Preview

West Brom predictions

West Brom vs Nottingham Forest predictions and betting tips for this Tuesday night Championship fixture on February 12th with an anytime goalscorer tip and goals prediction included.

A rare midweek Championship fixture list sees West Brom take on Nottingham Forest at the Hawthornes. The Baggies were 1-0 winners against Stoke in the TV game on Saturday evening but Darren Moore’s side still don’t appear to completely convincing. The Potters didn’t offer much going forward and it was a relatively straightforward evening for the WBA defence. Regardless of overall performance, the Baggies have quality up front and that should make all the different in this game but they don’t win often enough in front of their own fans and a draw looks likely.  See our West Brom vs Nottingham Forest predictions below.

West Brom vs Nottingham Forest Predictions

West Brom went within four points of automatic promotion at the weekend and took full advantage of Sheffield United and Leed’s failure to collect three points. The Baggies are still very much in contention but they have seemingly struggled for consistency since Harvey Barnes was recalled by Leicester at the start of the year. For a side who are still in the mix, their home form is unconvincing with just seven wins from 15 overall and just one victory in their last six at the Hawthornes (vs Wigan). They have beaten Leeds here and they can turn on the style when required but doing it on a regular basis appears to be an issue. They’ve drawn five of their last eight home matches and at an odds-on price, I’d be looking to swerve them. Forest were victorious at the weekend with a 2-1 victory over Brentford at the City Ground although the Bees did have plenty of chances in the second half. Their away form is patchy and they come off the back of three consecutive defeats on their travels. However, there are signs that Martin O’Neill is graudally improving things in the East Midlands and his side will fancy their chances of getting something from this tie. The draw looks like the best option in the match outright market and it’s the first of our West Brom vs Nottingham Forest predictions for Tuesday night.

West Brom vs Nottingham Forest Goals Predictions

If you’re looking for goals, WBA’s home matches are the ideal place to start. An amazing 13 of their first 15 games here at the Hawthornes have resulted in BTTS. Only Wigan and Millwall, two of the worst travellers in the division, have failed to score at this ground this season and you’d fancy Forest’s chances of getting on the scoresheet here. Martin O’Neill’s side failed to find the net in their last three away matches but they have plenty of firepower in their squad and they are a team who have found the net at Elland Road, Carrow Road and Villa Park already this season. The game ended 1-1 earlier this season and a similar outcome could await here. Both Teams to Score? Yes is the second of our West Brom vs Nottingham Forest predictions.

West Brom vs Nottingham Forest Anytime Goalscorer Tips

Lewis Grabban has spent some time on the bench since MON’s arrival. The striker has been left out of the squad in favour of Daryl Murphy although he got some minutes on the pitch at the weekend and he found the back of the net. The general concensus is that he is still Forest’s best route to goal and he has a terrific record in the Championship. He’s scored 16 times so far this season and he’ll be looking to break the 20-goal barrier as soon as possible. If he plays, Grabban could take advantage of WBA’s defensive generosity here and find the back of the net. He is the third of our West Brom vs Nottingham Forest predictions for Tuesday night.

West Brom vs Nottingham Forest Match Betting Preview

Despite only winning one of their last seven home matches, West Brom can be backed at 3/4 to win this midweek fixture. The draw is priced at 11/4 and is the first of our Championship predictions for this evening. The Tricky Trees can be backed at 15/4 to pick up their fourth away win of the campaign.

The bookies can’t decide which way this game is going goal-wise. Under and Over 2.5 Goals are both currently priced at 10/11 for this match.

Dwight Gayle scored the first and only goal of WBA’s weekend victory and the in-form striker is the favourite in the anytime goalscorer market for this fixture. He is 7/2 to open the scoring once again. Strike partner Jay Rodriguez, who squandered their best chance of the game against Stoke is second in the betting at 5/1. For Forest, Lewis Grabban is 9/2 to break the deadlock.
