Romania vs Sweden Betting Odds
Sweden start as the favourites for this game despite having to travel to Bucharest on Friday night. Janne Andersson’s side are priced up at 6/4 favourites with Coral for this contest.
Romania can be backed at 2/1 to pick up three points.
It’s a must-win contest for the hosts who still harbour hopes of qualifying for Euro 2020. The best price for the draw is 5/2 and that’s currently available with Bet365.
Over 2.5 Goals is available at 13/10. The bookies aren’t expecting many goals in this tie despite there being plenty at stake.
Romania vs Sweden Match Preview
Group F is one of the most exciting and nicely poised sections in Euro 2020 qualifying process. Despite Spain having already booked their place at next summer’s tournament, there is still plenty to play for. Second place is up for grabs and there are three sides who can potentially seal that spot. If the Swedes pick up three points in this game, the World Cup quarter-finalists will automatically qualify for Euro 2020 with a game to spare. Romania currently sit a point behind the Scandinavians and will be gunning for three points here. Cosmin Contra’s side will face Spain in their tenth Group F contest and to give themselves any chance of qualification, they must collect maximum points here. Only drawing 1-1 with Norway was troublesome last time out, and they will need to take their chances in this contest. Sweden have certainly been entertaining on the road, and have scored eleven and conceded six in their last four away matches. Janne Andersson isn’t necessarily the most adventurous manager, although his side do have plenty of ability in the final third and they’ll be expected to play their part in this fascinating tie.
Romania vs Sweden Predictions
Sweden were narrow winners in Solna when these two sides met earlier in the campaign. However, they haven’t been able to replicate their excellent form on the road. Despite easing past Malta and the Faroe Islands, they haven’t were outclassed by Spain and almost lost to near-neighbours Norway. Romania’s two victories at home have also come against the minnows in the group, and their 1-0 victory over Malta was extremely underwhelming. They should have beaten Norway and they will be determined to bounce back from that disappointment. However, they are incredibly difficult to beat and their only defeat in this group has come against Spain. Neither side will want to lose this contest and Group F could go right down to the wire. A point each would set up a grandstand finish on Monday night and that seems the most likely outcome here.
