This is a rather exciting tie for two countries whose national teams are in a good place at the moment. After promising world cup campaigns in the summer and after they both won their respective Nations League groups, they will be looking to take that momentum into the Euro 2020 qualifiers. It won’t be easy however, as these two top 10 ranked teams also have the Republic of Ireland in their group to fight over the qualification spots.

Unfortunately for Switzerland, they are without their main man up top. Haris Seferovic as he is currently out with a groin injury that he has been nursing for a few weeks. With five goals in his last three competitive international games (including a hat trick against Belgium) he will be sorely missed. The same story goes for Switzerland talisman Xherdan Shaqiri who is also suffering from a groin injury. Therefore, they will have to look towards other options like Steven Zuber who scored at the weekend against Georgia.

Denmark don’t often score many goals, but when they do, the goals always seem to involve Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen. As their set piece taker, the chances of him scoring are always high and Denmark will be looking to him for inspiration. Martin Braithwaite is also a player who could get on the scoresheet for the Danes.

For my Switzerland vs Denmark prediction though, I feel that Eriksen is the best shout tonight to score anytime and you can get him at 4/1 with Paddy Power.

This fixture is genuinely very close to call. With only two places between them in the FIFA world rankings, it could go either way. However, after analysing the squads and recent form, I’m going to go for a low score draw. I would probably have backed a fully fit Switzerland side to win here but as they have too many key players out with injury I believe that Denmark will be able to get something here.
