Burnley vs Everton Predictions and Betting Tips – Struggling Blues to Grab a Point?

Burnley Attendance

Burnley vs Everton predictions, betting tips and match preview for Saturday’s Premier League fixture at Turf Moor. Everton have a terrible away record and the pressure is mounting on Marco Silva, but can his side get a positive result this weekend?

A 3-1 loss to Manchester City last weekend has left Everton down in 15th place after three straight defeats. Burnley drew 2-2 with Aston Villa but they are good at home and won 2-0 against Norwich last time out on home soil. See our prediction and betting tips for Saturday below.

Burnley vs Everton Preview – 05/10/19 Premier League

Sean Dyche always has his Burnley side well drilled but that went out the window in the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa last weekend as the match opened up. They’ve had a mixed bag of results so far this season but did pick up a good home win against Norwich City two weeks ago. The 3-0 home loss to Liverpool was to be expected but it was still a below par performance and they’ll see this as a good chance to get three points against an Everton side on the ropes.

Marco Silva is a man under pressure at Goodison Park and three Premier League defeats in a row haven’t helped his cause. He will hope Andre Comes is back this weekend because the midfield two of Fabien Delph and Morgan Schneiderlin have been the stem of a lot of Everton fans fury. Particularly Schneiderlin. Moise Kean hasn’t had many chances to show his talent upfront either, with Silva still persisting with Dominic Calvert-Lewin at the top of the pitch. He has scored four in his last four matches now but his goal against Man City last weekend was impossible to miss.

Can Marco Silva turn Everton’s fortunes around?

The Goodison Park faithful are not afraid of voicing their opinions about managers, as Roberto Martinez, Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce have found out in recent seasons. A lot of the Everton fans do not think Silva is the man to push Everton forward so he is certainly under pressure and another defeat here might well mean he isn’t in charge of the Toffee’s after the upcoming international break.

However, there is probably little value is changing manager so quickly this season, although his refusal to try different tactics or players is obviously frustrating. These are the types of matches Everton fans will expect their side to win and they did the double over Burnley last season, putting up a great performance at Turf Moor to win 5-1 on Boxing Day.

It would be a shock to see a similar result this season but if Gomes returns to the starting 11 then Everton could battle to a point here. Burnley have lost to Liverpool but beaten Southampton and Norwich at home this season, and lost in the League Cup to Sunderland. They’ve also drawn three away matches and so the first of our Burnley vs Everton predictions for this weekend is for the match to end in a draw.

Don’t expect many goals when Burnley play Everton

Last season’s 1-5 final score looks a long way away now and for this weekend’s fixture, I’m not expecting many goals. Everton need to tighten things up at the back and really miss Gana Gueye in the midfield holding role. Burnley have kept clean sheets against both Southampton and Norwich at home already and will look to keep out the likes of Richarlison, Bernard and Calver-Lewin this weekend and given Everton’s lack of creativity in recent matches, this might be the case. Silva will probably go with two defensive-minded central midfielders again in the hope of avoiding another away defeat, so under 2.5 goals looks a good option for the next betting tip.

What are the odds for under 2.5 goals in Burnley vs Everton? It’s 8/11 with Grosvenor Sports.

Everton to struggle from set-pieces again?

One of Everton’s big problems under Marco Silva has been defending set pieces, and this reared its ugly head against Sheffield United recently, when Yerry Mina put through his own net. One of Burnley’s main strengths is their ariel threat and Chris Wood will be licking his lips at the chance to attack Mina and Michael Keane this weekend.

However, for my anytime goalscorer tip I am going to recommend one of the Burnley central defenders to get a goal from a corner or free kick. The odds for both Ben Mee and James Tarkowski are double figures, and it would be no shock at all to see one of them get on the scoresheet. At 14/1, take a chance on Ben Mee to score anytime in this game and if you use the Grosvenor Sport sign-up bonus, you’ll get odds of 28/1 because they double the odds of your first bet for you.

Burnley vs Everton Correct Score Prediction – 1-1 draw

If Everton are to get a result in this match, they’re going to have to get on the scoresheet. Sean Dyche’s side have been finding the net regularly this season with both Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes scoring goals. There is always the chance though, that their defence will slip up and that has shown a few times this season including at home to Liverpool and last time out at Aston Villa. With that considered, a prediction of a 1-1 draw is the bet to complete our Burnley vs Everton betting tips this weekend. The odds for this are 5/1 but if you join Grosvenor Sport via this link you’ll get 10/1.
