Liverpool have had a season for their fans to remember for a long, long time. They have already been crowned champions of the Premier League, and will be keen to finish the season strong while having not much to play for.

Chelsea vs Liverpool Predictions

I think Chelsea will win this one at home to a Liverpool side who have already been crowned champions. Chelsea still have a lot to play for, with a top four spot up for grabs, while it’s still very possible for them to finish as low as seventh. Of course, Liverpool won’t come to the Bridge without a fight, but I think with the backing of their home fans and the desire to finish as high as possible, Chelsea will get the job done. They’ve won their last three in all competitions and haven’t lost at home since Boxing Day. I think they’re great odds to get the win here.

I do think both teams will score, however. Few teams have managed to keep Liverpool from scoring and I don’t think Chelsea will do that this weekend. The Reds have scored 80 league goals this season, an average of well over two per game. Chelsea have scored in 17 of their last 20 matches in all competitions, and I expect there to be a good amount of goals here, while expecting Chelsea to come away with the win. It’ll be an end-to-end affair, with the classic feel of a game at the business end of the season, with Chelsea going all out to get the points they need. I think both teams to score is a safe bet here.

I’m backing two players to be carded – Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate and Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella. Konate has picked up eight cards in all competitions this season, with five in the league, one in the Carabao Cup and two in the Champions League. He averages just under one foul per game. Chelsea full back Cucurella has 10 cards to his name this season. In the Prem, he has been yellow carded nine times and sent off once. He averages over one foul per game in the league this season, and against a tough Liverpool side, I expect him to make at least one here. Both players are good odds for a card this weekend.
