Brighton vs Newcastle Predictions
I’m backing Newcastle to defeat Brighton on the road this Sunday. The Magpies have lost only one of their last eight games in all competitions, scoring 21 goals in the process. Funnily enough, their last defeat came against Brighton in the fifth round of the FA Cup back in early March, so I think they’ll be out for revenge here as they look to stay in the hunt for second place. Brighton have won just one in their last seven three defeats and three draws also coming in that time. I think Newcastle will come out on top here.
I’m backing Alexander Isak to get himself on the scoresheet in this one. He’s Newcastle’s main man, with 22 goals and six assists in his 31 league matches this season, with a further three goals coming in the Carabao Cup and one in the Champions League. He has scored seven in his last 10 appearances for Newcastle, with one coming against their opponents this weekend. Newcastle will have plenty chances, and I think Isak is great odds to find the back of the net with one of them.
We’ve gone for two players to be carded – Brighton’s Carlos Beleba and Newcastle defender Dan Burn. Baleba has picked up seven cards this season in the league, six yellow and one red. He has made 38 fouls, giving him an average of well over one per game. Dan Burn has been carded 10 times this season, with all of them coming in his 33 Premier League appearances. He averages over 0.5 fouls per game in the league, and I think he might make one or two here. Both players are good odds to pick up a booking each this weekend.
