Although Napoli start at an odds-on price for this game, Salzburg are unlikely to be pushovers in this clash. The Austrians have an excellent recent record in this competition, and are extremely handy going forward. They’ve lost just one of their last nine Europa League clashes, with that sole defeat coming in Belgian in the last round. They bounced back with a resounding victory in front of their own fans, but they are susceptible on the road. They have found the net in seven of their last eight away Europa League matches, and they can play their part in a very entertaining clash here.

Napoli went down to ten men, but fought valiantly against Juventus on Sunday, and Carlo Ancellotti’s side missed the chance to equalise from the penalty spot. Napoli faced the other Red Bull franchise in the round of 32 last season, and found Leipzig particularly handy going forward. The Partenopei have changed management since, and the system has shifted significantly, but Salzburg will fancy their chances of bagging an away goal. In the UCL, they conceded at home to both Red Star Belgrade and PSG during the group stage, and it’s unlikely that they’ll keep a clean sheet in this one. Marseille were the last side to stop Salzburg from finding the net, and the Austrians were very unlucky that night. Although he regularly finds the net domestically, Munas Dabbur tends to save his best for the Europa League. The 26-year old netted in the previous round against Club Brugge, and is currently the competitions top goalscorer for the 2018-19 season. He also found the net at Celtic Park, against Leipzig and Rosenborg, and can continue his love affair with Thursday nights here. Napoli have plenty of goalscorers to choose from, but the Israeli is likely to be Salzburg’s biggest threat, and he won’t be distracted by the big occasion. Napoli start as odds-on favourites and can be backed at 1/2 to take a lead into the second leg. It’s 15/4 for the game to end all-square whilst Salzburg have been chalked up at 6/1 to steal an unlikely victory at Stadio San Paolo.

Goals tend to follow both sides around in this competition, and unsurprisingly, it’s 8/11 for Over 2.5 Goals in this tie. More ambitious punters can take 7/4 on Over 3.5 Goals in this game.

Arkadiusz Milik has enjoyed a brilliant season in Serie A, and is the division’s most prolific goalscorer this season (in terms of minutes on the pitch).
