Iceland vs Albania Preview
Kick-off time: 7.45pm
Date: Saturday 8th June 2019
Competition: Euro 2020 qualifying
Venue: Laugardalsvöllur (Reykjavík)
This is a vital match for both of these sides even so early into Euro 2020 qualifying. With France in the group alongside them, there will be a battle on for second place between these two teams and Turkey, who have won both of their matches so far, including a win against Albania. Iceland were thrashed 4-0 by France in their second Group H fixture, before that they picked up a 2-0 win in Andorra.
Albania have also won in Andorra, 3-0, but they were beaten 2-0 against rivals Albania, which was an early blow to their hopes of finishing second in the group. Albania restricted Andorra to no shots on target in that first match and they’ll need to be on their guard against the likes of Gylfi Sigurðsson from Everton and Kolbeinn Sigþórsson, who has scored 23 goals for his country.

Iceland vs Albania Betting Tips
This one looks certain to be a close encounter and it is hard to see many goals being scored. It would be the perfect selection for an under 2.5 goals accumulator this weekend. Iceland have only scored twice in their last four home matches now and Andorra have failed to score in three of their last five away matches. This included both Nations League defeats to Scotland and Israel, where they lost 2-0 on each occasion.
The odds for under 2.5 goals are understandably short in this one so we’re kicking off our Iceland vs Albania predictions with a bet on under 1.5 goals in the match. The odds for this are 7/4 with William Hill and it means if there are no goals, or just one goal in the match, the bet is a winning one.
We can also back that prediction up with a correct score bet and given the stronger attacking threat from Iceland, and home advantage, they could edge this one. Kolbeinn Sigþórsson is their main goal threat and he’s favourite to score first at odds of 10/3 with William Hill if you fancy your chances with a first goalscorer bet. However, the second of our Iceland v Albania betting tips is for the home side to win 1-0 at 4/1.
