Latvia vs Poland Predictions and Betting Tips: Poland to Edge Closer to Qualification
Latvia vs Poland prediction and betting tips for 10/10/19 Euro 2020 Qualification fixture at 7:45 pm. This should be little more than a formality for Poland who lead group G.
Poland are three points clear of third-placed Austria in Euro 2020 qualifying Group G and could extend that to six with just three games remaining if they win in Latvia this week. Latvia cannot qualify and currently sit bottom of the group with no points after a very poor campaign. They have only scored one goal in their six matches and this should be an easy win for Poland – but what are the betting tips?

Latvia vs Poland Preview: 10/10/19 Euro 2020 Qualification
Latvia are bottom of group G having lost all six Euro 2020 qualification matches so far. They have scored just once and conceded 21 times. Latvia cannot qualify through the group nor will they get a chance to qualify for Euro 2020 through the UEFA Nations League pathway either. The pathways to the Euro 2020 qualifying play-offs are complicated but as Latvia only finished third in their league division, they only have a very slim chance of qualifying for the play-offs via that route either.
Poland sit top of a competitive group. Just five points separate them and fifth-placed Israel with four games remaining. Nevertheless, Poland are in the driving seat and will be in a very strong position should they beat Latvia in this game. Despite being two points clear at the top of the group they will know that any slip-up will mean Austria or Slovenia are in a position to take top spot away from them though. With the top two qualifying for Euro 2020, Poland know a win here will be a huge step towards confirming their place.
A professional job for Poland
Poland won without conceding in their first four qualifiers. They have kept five clean sheets in six games and averaged 1.5 goals a game. Having failed to take more than a point from their last two matches against Denmark (0-0) and Slovenia (0-2) they have given the other teams in this group a chance to catch them and now need to use this game as an opportunity to get back on course. A win to nil is priced at 4/11 and that looks like one of the bankers for the Euro 2020 betting tips this week. You could also pick Poland on the HT/FT market for another short-priced bet.
No thrashing here
Poland have been relatively poor in terms of goalscoring so far, which is a surprise given they have top strikers in their squad such as Robert Lewandowski, Krzysztof Piątek and Arkadiusz Milik. Just 1.5 goals a game is far from prolific despite their striking options and that is always a concern for the Poles. They only picked up three points from their World Cup group and scored just two goals in their three matches, which was ultimately their downfall in what looked a relatively easy group to get out of. Poland only won 2-0 at home to Latvia in the reverse fixture and it could be a similar scoreline here. The Poles have not scored in either of their last two games which gives even more confidence for the prediction.
What are the odds for under 2.5 goals in Latvia vs Poland this week? 6/4 with Betfred.
Latvia vs Poland Score Prediction – Poland to win 2-0
A low scoring game that gets the job done for the visitors. Robert Lewandowski has been in sparkling form for Bayern this season, netting eleven goals in the league. Even so, he has scored just twice in qualification, one of which was a penalty and he does sometimes struggle with the hopes of the nation on his shoulders, as was seen at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Latvia will put up a fight, but they won’t be able to hold off the group leaders in this fixture so we’re going for a 2-0 away win.
What are the odds for Poland to beat Latvia 2-0 in this week’s Euro 2020 qualifying match? 9/2 with bet365.
