Napoli are undoubtedly the entertainers of Serie A so far. They’re last 16 games have contained 64 goals, and they were on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat against Juventus prior to the International Break. Questions have to be asked about the Partenopei’s defending in that clash, with Khalid Koulibaly particularly culpable. On the plus side, Napoli look sharp in the final third, and with the addition of Fernando Llorente, they now have another option going forward. Hirving Lozano was unleashed from the bench last time out, and the Mexican should be able to cause problems for Sampdoria in this one. With Arkadiusz Milik and Lorenzo Insigne still injured, and unlikely to feature in this game, Carlo Ancelotti has a big enough squad to cope with the demands of Serie A. The hosts lost 3-0 in Genoa last season, but they bounced back with a comfortable win on home soil. They’ve scored six times in their last two games against Sampdoria at Stadio San Paolo, and judging by Samp’s defending so far, there could be a similar outcome here.

It’s been a poor start for Sampdoria, who are still searching for their first victory of the campaign. Eusebio Di Francesco’s time at Roma did not end well, and his burgeoning reputation took a hit during his time in the capital. Any hopes of rebuilding it have not gone to plan at Stadio Luigi Ferraris. They’ve conceded seven times so far, and netted just a single goal. At least Fabio Quagliarella is off the mark for the campaign, and he always tends to turn up for these games against Napoli. Samp are always traditionally better at home, and they won just five times on their travels throughout the 2018-19 campaign. Only four sides conceded more away goals than the Genoese club last year, and they’ll need to tighten up in order to stay competitive here. They’ve also been defeated in nine of their eleven trips to this ground.

These games are always entertaining, and Napoli are scoring for fun at the moment. However, they look far from assured at the back, and their back-line tended to panic throughout their defeat to Juventus. Although both ties ended 3-0 last season, I do think that Sampdoria can get on the score-sheet this time around. They will surely start to improve, and Quagliarella is always a danger. Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals is Evens, and looks like a great place to start in this one.

Hirving Lozano got off the mark for his new club last week from the bench, and he could be given a start in this one. The Mexican is a willing runner, and never gives up. He was excellent at PSV, and should be able to carry on where he left off in the Eredivisie. He’s the second favourite to score anytime in this game, and even if he is limited to 20 minutes, that could be enough time to find a way through.
