League C of the UEFA Nations League sees in-form Norway take on minnows Cyprus. It’s a nice easy start for Lars Lagerback and his side. See our Norway vs Cyprus predictions for the match below.
Norway have been placed in Group 3 of UEFA Nations League C and they look to have been handed a relatively kind draw. They will also be alongside Bulgaria and Slovenia but they begin with their easiest fixture in this section. Cyprus are up against it and they aren’t expected to progress. Norway are one of the in-form sides on the International stage and they have enjoyed a fruitful 2018 so far with Lars Lagerback guiding his young side to victories over Australia, Albania and his former employers, Iceland. They are looking to make it five from five this calendar year and there is every chance that they can begin with a victory. Norway have been priced up at around 2/5 and they will be the cornerstone of many accumulator bets on Thursday. They should be able to cover the -1 handicap which is available at 5/4 with Ladbrokes and that is the first of our Norway vs Cyprus predictions. They successfully covered this against San Marino and Azerbaijan in relatively recent competitive fixtures and I don’t class the Cypriots as particularly tough nuts to crack.
Cyprus don’t win often and they also struggle for firepower. They’ve netted just four times in their last seven away games across all competitions and have failed to score in five of those seven encounters. They drew blanks against Belgium, Georgia, Estonia and Jordan and only Gibraltar, Bosnia and Kazakhstan have conceded to the Cypriots. Norway’s defence isn’t watertight but they are relatively well-organised and have conceded just once in their last four matches. Cyprus don’t create many chances and they are unlikely to find space amongst the Norway back-line. September 2016 was the last time that Norway conceded more than a single goal in a game. Both Teams to Score? No is available at a reasonable 6/4 with Coral. You can use their £20 Free Bet to back this selection.

There are a number of possible goal-scorers for Norway and they have firepower in abundance. Josh King hasn’t got off to the best start in this season’s Premier League but he is pretty prolific at International level and he is also likely to be on penalty duty. Always check the line-ups before placing any bets in this fixture but he is likely to be given the nod should he be fully fit. King has netted in two of the last four home matches for his country and also in four of his last six. He is available at 13/10 with Bet365 to net anytime in this fixture and is the third of our Norway vs Cyprus predictions.
Norway were always likely to start as favourites for this Group 3 fixtures and they can be backed at 2/5 to open with a victory. William Hill are offering 7/1 for an away win whilst it’s 7/2 for the game to end all square. Norway’s World Cup Qualification campaign got off to a poor start but they look far better equipped ahead of the UEFA Nations League and will be extremely popular on the handicaps. -1 is available at 23/20 whilst it’s 10/3 for -2 in this game.
The final three World Cup Qualifiers at home were all low-scoring affairs and there wasn’t much between the sides. William Hill have priced up Under 2.5 Goals at 8/13 and Norway could settle for a narrow victory. Norway Win and Under 2.5 Goals is available at 17/10 and offers far more value to the average punter.
Alexander Sorloth has struggled for game time at Selhurst Park since signing but he is always a threat for his country and the big striker is available 9/2 with Bet365 to score the first goal of the game. He will be hoping to put in a good performance and restore some much needed confidence.
