Celtic have already sewn up the Scottish Premiership title but games between these two will always be about much more than three points.

Each of the three previous clashes between Rangers and Celtic have been won by the home team.

Rangers were unlucky to not take something from the clash at Parkhead in March and will be looking to make it two wins apiece for the season.

Rangers vs Celtic Betting Tips

These two sides may not be what they once were in terms of overall quality but that doesn’t detract from the fixture itself, which will be watched the world over.

It’s fair to say that Rangers are still recovering from an enforced demotion in 2012 but they’ve shown signs of tangible progress since Steven Gerrard took over last summer.

The Light Blues failed to add to their record-breaking tally of 54 league titles this campaign but have certainly laid some foundations ahead of what many expect will be a more closely-contested title run-in.

Celtic secured an eighth successive Scottish Premiership title last month and are now just two more championships away from achieving an unprecedented 10 in a row.

The Hoops are yet to taste defeat since Neil Lennon’s shock return to the club although they have looked far less convincing than the side that used to steamroll other clubs under the stewardship of Brendan Rodgers.

They make the short trip west to Govan where an expectant Ibrox awaits. Rangers fans will be confident of victory here and take great encouragement from their display against Celtic just before New Year.

The Bears ran out 1-0 winners that day but should have won by a far greater margin.

Despite the two Glasgow giants being by far and away the division’s two highest scorers, only one of the three fixtures this season have seen both teams scoring. I think that could change on Sunday, with Celtic doubtless keen to commemorate their latest title with a win at their oldest foe and Rangers desperate to narrow the gap between the two to a more respectable six points.

You can get 4/5 on both teams finding the net inside 90 minutes which will draw plenty of punters in.

Rangers vs Celtic Anytime Scorer Prediction

Rangers talisman Alfredo Morelos was sent off for a fifth time this campaign at Parkhead in March and has yet to start a game for his club since then.

Veteran forward Jermain Defoe has deputised well in Morelos’ absence from suspension and retained his place in the starting XI against Hibernian last week.

Morelos did enter the fray via the bench but by that time Defoe had notched the only goal of the match to secure a fifth win on the spin for the Gers.

There’s been much speculation about who will lead the line on Sunday but previous instances suggest that Defoe will have done enough to keep the proverbial number nine shirt. If that’s the case, then expect a few people to pile into the 2/1 available on the 36-year-old to score anytime.
