Football Betting Tips

There’s another full fixture list in the EFL this weekend, and we’ve picked out three prolific players who will hopefully find the back of the net.

Matt Smith – Millwall vs Hull

In the nicest possible way, Matt Smith is a complete nuisance. The Millwall striker is a real aerial presence, and the Lions will certainly play to his strengths. He caused Middlesbrough plenty of problems last weekend, and was probably fairly unlucky to draw a blank in that game. He is off the mark, and he’s netted twice already. Hull’s defending hasn’t been brilliant so far this campaign, and they conceded three times to Bristol City last weekend. Grant McCann’s side look better in the final third this season, and they certainly have plenty of talent in midfield areas, although at the back, they look suceptible. The Tigers are yet to keep a clean sheet this campaign, and they could be tested at the Den on Saturday. Smith should get plenty of opportunities in this game, and given the way Hull defended against the Robins last weekend, he should be able to grab his third goal of the season here.

Scott Kashket – AFC Wimbledon vs Wycombe

Scott Kashket is a natural goalscorer, but his injury record is woeful. The 23-year old has played just 90 minutes this season, and has already netted twice. He looked sharp against Southend (although that isn’t difficult), and if he starts here, he should be able to add to his tally. Last season he scored three times in the league, but spent large chunks of the campaign on the sidelines, and he also notched twice in 270 minutes in the EFL Cup. AFC Wimbledon are a young side, and they have a number of players still learning their craft. They’ve looked lively going forward, but their defence has yet to keep a clean sheet. Wycombe should be full of confidence after firing four past Southend last weekend, and Kashket should have done enough to get the nod here. It was his first start of the campaign, and although he won’t find AFC Wimbledon as generous at the back, he should get plenty of chances.

Eoin Doyle – Swindon vs Morecambe

Eoin Doyle is prolific at this level, but the striker needs to be the focal point of a side in order to thrive. He clearly hadn’t settled at Bradford, and wasn’t at his best, but his move to Swindon is already bearing fruit. Doyle has netted three times in five appearances so far at League Two level, albeit with two of those appearances as attacking midfielder for the Bantams. He’s netted in two of his three games with the Robins, and comes off the back of an impressive double at Cheltenham. During the 17-18 campaign, he netted 14 times in 31 appearances at League One level for Oldham, and if he is given the service, he will score goals. The ROI man appears to have found the perfect fit in Swindon, and Richie Wellen’s side do create plenty of chances. I expect him to make it four for the season here.
