Cardiff’s failure to beat Crystal Palace on Saturday has taken the pressure off Brighton here.

Spurs’ shock defeat to Bournemouth means that Arsenal will be just two points behind their bitter rivals should they see off the Seagulls.

The Gunners took a giant leap towards the Europa League final in midweek but revert their focus to domestic duties.

Arsenal vs Brighton Betting Tips

Arsenal ended a very unwelcome spell of three successive defeats on Thursday night, overturning a 1-0 deficit to Valencia to eventually win 3-1. That shocking patch of results has seen the Londoners fall well behind in the race for top four although points are being dropped frequently by all teams involved meaning they can still, somehow, secure a Champions League qualification spot.

Of course, winning the Europa League would give the Gunners an alternative passageway into Europe’s premier club competition. Unai Emery’s men will however be kicking themselves at the sensed waste opportunity given that they could be five points clear of Spurs if they’d won their last three outings.

The outcome of Brighton’s trip to the capital is now of virtually no significance following Saturday’s results, with the visitors now safe from relegation following Cardiff’s failure to beat Crystal Palace.

In truth, an unforeseen victory at home to Newcastle was the defining moment of Brighton’s season with their 1-0 victory ending a dismal run of eight straight games without scoring.

It’s just as well the Seagulls players turned up at the right time then, as going to the Emirates requiring three points is the kind of pressure fixture that they’ve routinely disappeared for in recent weeks.

I’m expecting the home side to kick on again now and would be surprised if they couldn’t see off the south coast side after a decent showing against one of Spain’s elite clubs on Thursday night. I fancy Arsenal to win this by two or three and think a -1 handicap result will tempt many given that the price is close to even money.

Arsenal vs Brighton Both Teams To Score Prediction

It amazes me that bookies regard it more likely than not that both teams will score here – particularly given Brighton’s recent profligacy in front of goal. I wouldn’t put a penny of my money on the visitors bagging given their recent struggles, even factoring the numerous defensive woes that Arsenal have suffered up until this point.

Laurent Koscielny was originally earmarked to return for this one but that, too, now looks in doubt. Arsenal are down to the bare bones as far as defensive options are concerned, but that alone won’t stop them dominating possession and taking the game to a Brighton team so clearly short of confidence. I’d be very surprised if we saw both sides find the net here, which is why even money on both teams not scoring jumps off the page to me. Time will tell whether or not that confidence is misplaced!
