Newcastle vs Manchester United Prediction and Preview: Can the Red Devils Get Back on Track?
Newcastle vs Manchester United prediction and betting tips for 07/10/19 Premier League fixture at 4:30 pm. Neither side will be too content with current league position but it’s only going to get worse for one of these teams.
Manchester United fans will be far from pleased with tenth place after seven matches. This is one of the club’s worst starts to a Premier League campaign and something needs to change soon. They failed to have a shot on target in the Europa League in midweek and Solskjaer is a man under pressure.
Newcastle vs Manchester United Preview: 07/10/19 Premier League
A 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Monday did little to convince fans and pundits that United aren’t in a crisis. It was a low-quality match which didn’t see it’s first shot until the half-hour mark. Just one win in the last five league games is not the form of a top-four side and United already look well off the pace as they aim to get back into the Champions League.
Newcastle have their own problems. Just one win all season sees The Magpies lingering in the relegation zone in 19th. Just four goals scored in seven games is the joint lowest along with bottom placed Watford. A 5-0 loss to Leicester has dragged the mood on Tyneside to new lows and Hayden will now be suspended fro this match. The toxic atmosphere in Newcastle might be forgotton foe the visit of Manchester United but the hatred towards Mike Ashley is only growing as he continues to poison the club.
Newcastle to shut up shop
After their painful 5-0 hammering last weekend, Newcastle will surely tighten up defensively. The Magpies have only conceded a total of four goals against Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool this season. Their 1-0 win over Spurs in matchday two shows they are capable of frustrating the better teams in this league. Under 2.5 goals is priced at 8/11 and that’s the first of this weekend’s betting tips.
A Daniel James screamer?
With Newcastle likely to sit deep on the edge of their box, United may have to resort to efforts from range. James has already showed his ability to strike a ball into the top corner from the edge of the box as he did against Southampton. The Welshman has scored three league goals already this season and is a good bet to score. James to score anytime is priced at 9/4 and given he has been one of the brighter stars of a terrible start to United’s season, it could be left to the youngster to get his team out of trouble at St James’ Park.
Newcastle vs Manchester United Score Prediction – Manchester United to win 1-0
It won’t be pretty but Manchester United should find a way past Newcastle. Just nine goals in seven games suggests it won’t be a high scoring affair but with The Red Devils likely to dominate possession, the pressure should eventually pay off. 1-0 is priced at 6/1.
