Football accumulator tips for this weekend’s Sunday matches including the reasons for each pick and which bookmaker to use on our accumulator bet.
Atletico Madrid to beat Getafe
Real Betis to beat Real Valladolid
Reims to beat Strasbourg
St Etienne to beat Brest
Vitoria Guimaraes to beat Boavista
A new-look Atletico Madrid team stage their opening home fixture of the La Liga campaign and they will hope to extend some impressive pre-season results by beating Getafe. That clash features in this Sunday Accumulator alongside another game from Spain with Real Betis tipped to beat Valladolid. Two games from France also also covered with Reims and St Etienne aiming to follow their victories from the opening weekend while Victoria Guimaraes in Portugal are also selected after impressing in recent European action. Odds of approximately 13/1 will be available for the successful outcome of these games.
Despite selling Antoine Griezmann and Rodri among others during a busy Summer transfer window, Atletico Madrid enjoyed a decent pre-season during which they beat Real Madrid and Juventus. There has been an influx of new players, most notably the very promising Joao Felix from Benfica, and Atletico should be ready to host Getafe in their opening La Liga game. The visitors only just missed qualifying for the Champions League last term but they failed to score a goal when beaten twice by Atletico. Another defeat for Getafe is likely.
Europa League football appeared to stretch the depth of Real Betis’ first team squad last season although they finished in a comfortable mid-table berth in La Liga. The Seville based team also won 2-0 at Real Madrid in their final match. For this opening game in the 2019-20 campaign, Betis host a Real Valladolid outfit which narrowly escaped relegation last term by winning three of their final five games. Just two away wins were earned by Valladolid from January onwards including scoring twice in added time during a 2-1 win at Eibar. A home victory is prediction for this accumulator.
When claiming a much-deserved 2-0 at Marseille last weekend, Reims signalled their intent on proving that last season’s final eighth position in Ligue 1 for a newly-promoted outfit was no fluke. Lyon, Rennes, PSG and Marseille were all beaten at Stade Auguste Delaune last term as were visiting Sunday team Strasbourg. Le Racing completed their fifth competitive game of the campaign when beating Lokomotiv Plovdiv 1-0 on Thursday evening in Europa League action, but they could only earn a point when hosting promoted Metz last weekend. Reims are tipped to win this home match.
After finishing second and clinching promotion from French Ligue 2 last season, Brest began life back in the top tier by hosting Toulouse last weekend. The Breton team were close to sealing a 1-0 victory until a very late equaliser denied them all three points. Brest now face a much tougher task as they travel to St Etienne with the hosts claiming a 2-1 win a Dijon on the opening weekend. Les Verts have lost one or two influential players but the arrival of the experienced Ryad Boudebouz is a bonus, and they are tipped to overcome the Ligue 1 newcomers.
Following their 6-0 demolition of Latvian team Ventspils in Wednesday Europa League action, Vitoria Guimaraes have now won each of their last four games in that tournament without conceding a goal. The Portuguese outfit will hope to extend this form into their opening Primeira Liga game when they host a Boavista team which only narrowly beat Desportivo Aves on home soil last weekend. Desportivo only just escaped relegation last term and the visitors are likely to leave pointless from this more difficult fixture.
