World Cup Accumulator Tips – 5 Teams to Qualify from their Group

World Cup betting tips

World Cup betting tips for an accumulator on teams to qualify from their groups. Our tipster has picked five teams to qualify from their World Cup Group and the odds are 22/1 with Betway.

After winning the World Cup in 2010, Spain were expected to feature prominently in the Brazil tournament of 2014. They were the favourites to emerge as winners of Group B, but a 5-1 defeat by the Netherlands in their opening match was a significant blow from which they never fully recovered. Spain eventually finished third ahead of Australia after beating the Aussies 3-0 in their final group match, but their performances proved that group favourites are not guaranteed to progress into the knockout phase and that’s something to note for our World Cup accumulator tip today.

Although Brazil are currently priced at 1/20 to qualify for the Round of 16 with some bookmakers, this article offers five teams capable of emerging from their group at more appealing odds for a five-way football accumulator.

World Cup to Qualify Betting Tips

Mexico to qualify from Group F

Group F of the World Cup is expected to be won by Germany but securing second position is predicted to be quite competitive with Mexico facing both Sweden and South Korea. The Mexican team earned their berth at this tournament by easily winning the CONCACAF qualifiers and they suffered their only loss in the final series of matches when beaten 3-2 by Honduras with the title already sealed. In seven subsequent friendly matches, just one defeat was suffered when they were beaten 1-0 by a decent Croatia team, while 1-0 and 3-0 wins against Bosnia and Herzegovina plus Iceland respectively earlier this year proves that Mexico should be taken seriously at this tournament.

A 1-0 aggregate playoff win against Italy allowed Sweden to progress into this tournament but they are not the most consistent of teams and have struggled for goals this year. With South Korea showing signs of real vulnerability after three defeats against respectable European opposition since late March, Mexico are tipped to qualify from this group for our World Cup betting tips.

Peru to qualify from Group C

France have emerged as one of the favourites to claim the World Cup this summer and they should have no problems in qualifying from Group C whereas Denmark were unbeaten throughout 2017 and registered clean sheets in their first three matches this year.

Beating the Danes will be no easy task, but Peru could be a team which surprises a few people. Despite their need to face a playoff against New Zealand after finishing fifth in the CONMEBOL section, they were unbeaten in their last six matches in that qualification group and netted at least twice in winning their opening four matches of 2018. As per Denmark, Peru did not lose a game during 2017.

Facing, Peru, France and Denmark will be an Australian team which could only finish third behind Japan and Saudi Arabia in their AFC group and a fairly average performance in last Summer’s Confederation Cup suggests that the Aussie’s could struggle. Peru appear more likely to join France in the Round of 16.

Croatia to qualify from Group D

Although Argentina are expected to progress from Group D, their entry into this tournament arrived by a far from comfortable South American qualification, and they were not assured of a top four finish until the final set of matches. The Argentines will be opposed by Croatia, Iceland and Nigeria, with the latter team losing their last two friendly games amid a seemingly casual approach at times. Nigeria have also lost five of their last seven matches while Iceland were beaten in three successive games from March to early June.

Iceland did win UEFA World Cup qualifying Group I via a two-point margin from Croatia, but the runners-up could emerge as a decent team in this tournament with several in-form strikers selected in attack. The experienced Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic are also balanced by useful younger players in midfield, and Croatia are tipped to qualify for the knockout phase for our World Cup accumulator tips.

Colombia to qualify from Group H

Group H appears to be one of the more open of the coming World Cup with Colombia, Poland, Japan and Senegal all aiming to secure a final top two position and a place in our 2018 World Cup tips for Group H. In the case of Colombia, 0-0 draws against Australia and Egypt in their final two warm-up games prior to the World Cup does not offer much encouragement but they did win 3-2 in France prior to those matches. The Colombians would also have been unbeaten in their last six CONMEBOL qualifying fixtures but for conceding two very late goals in a 2-1 defeat by Paraguay in the penultimate match.

With a rejuvenated Radamel Falcao leading a dangerous-looking attack and playing in his first ever World Cup finals, Colombia could prove formidable opposition but they will face a Poland team which easily won their UEFA qualifying group. However, the Poles failed to show any real convincing form in four subsequent friendlies and their success in this tournament could be reliant on striker Robert Lewandowski reproducing his Bayern Munch form.

Meanwhile, management issues in recent weeks may have affected the prospects of Japan and a 2-0 home defeat by Ghana last month does not inspire confidence, while Senegal are proving to be a difficult team to beat. Yet the African outfit has not really beaten any strong opposition over the past twelve months, and current form suggests that Colombia may be the more definite team to progress into the knockout phase from this group.

Serbia to qualify from Group E

Switzerland, Serbia and Costa Rica will be contesting second position in Group E with Brazil expected to confirm their position as overwhelming group favourites.

Although Costa Rica defied many football experts by winning their group in the 2014 World Cup, they failed to beat any of their fellow top four teams on away soil during CONCACAF qualification with mixed fortunes experienced in subsequent friendly matches. As for Serbia, they finished ahead of the Republic of Ireland and Wales in UEFA qualification and despite some mixed results in recent matches, their squad contains many players familiar in decent European top-flight leagues with Nemanja Matic included among a useful midfield.

Switzerland will hope to deny the other two teams and they qualified for the knockout phase in both 2006 and 2014 World Cups, but they earned their position in this tournament by only just beating Northern Ireland 1-0 on aggregate in the UEFA playoffs. The Swiss do not concede many goals and can be a durable team, but Serbia could prevail in a close contest.
