Wolves vs Brentford – Christian Norgaard to be carded

In 23 Premier League games this season, an opposition midfielder has been booked in 14 against Wolves, including in 10 of their 11 home games. Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard has been booked 8 times, which is only bettered by Palhinha and Bruno Guimaraes. In his 20 appearances, Norgaard has made 58 tackles and committed 32 fouls, including 2 fouls in the reverse fixture in which he was booked. Simon Hooper officiates this fixture, and he has given 69 yellow cards and 3 red cards in 14 Premier League games this season, the second-highest average of any referee who has officiated 10 or more Premier League games.

Fulham vs Bournemouth – Joao Palhinha to be carded

Joao Palhinha is a player who regardless of the opponent, will get stuck in, making tackles and committing fouls. No player in the Premier League has made more tackles than Palhinha – 94 in 20 appearances. Across these 20 games, Palhinha has been booked 9 times, committing 32 fouls. Referee Darren England has given 82 yellow cards and 2 red cards in 14 English league games this season.

Southampton vs Huddersfield – Brodie Spencer to be carded

Southampton are the 5th most fouled side in the Championship this season and come up against a struggling team that is fighting relegation. Huddersfield defender Brodie Spencer is someone who isn’t afraid to get stuck in. He was booked 7 times in 17 starts for Motherwell in the first half of the season, committing 31 fouls. Since returning to Huddersfield, he has been booked in 2 of his 4 Championship games. Spencer is a versatile player who has played in several positions this season including as a RCB in a back 3, RWB, and LB in his most recent game. At left-back, Spencer will likely face the Saints’ most fouled player, Kyle Walker-Peters, someone who has drawn 61 fouls in 29 appearances this season. There should be no shortage of cards considering that referee David Webb has handed out 84 cards in 19 Championship games this season.

Nottingham Forest vs Newcastle – Bruno Guimaraes to be carded

In the 3 meetings between these two sides since Nottingham Forest have been promoted, there have been 15 yellow cards handed out. Each team received 3 bookings in the reverse fixture, including Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. No player has been booked more times than Bruno this season (9), and he was booked in the reverse fixture after committing 2 fouls. Since Nuno has been appointed as the new Forest manager, an opposition central midfielder has been booked in 6 out of their 10 games in all competitions. Referee Anthony Taylor has handed out 94 cards in 17 Premier League games this season, including 9 in his last game, the highest average of any referee who has officiated 10 or more Premier League games.
