Bayern Munich vs Dynamo Kyiv

The unstoppable German champions go into this game as heavy favourites and rightly so. They are on a hot streak of eight wins in a row in all competitions, and they don’t look like they can be stopped. New coach Julian Nagelsmann has surely started the season better than expected.

Dynamo are first in the Ukrainian league as well, but they have only got a 0-0 draw against Benfica in the first match of the Champions League, and in a group with Bayern and Barcelona, which may prove costly at the end. The last game between Bayern and Dynamo was back in 2000, and Dynamo won it 2-0. However, this is a completely different Bayer side, so we can’t see anything past a comfortable home win.

Score Prediction: Bayern Munich 4-0 Dynamo Kyiv (7/1)

Benfica vs Barcelona

Benfica are up against a Barcelona side full of problems and pressure from every side, so they will be confident of getting a surprise win. They played against the Catalans six times before this game, but they are yet to record their first win.

Barcelona are in deep crisis, as Messi’s departure only showing the cracks in the team that evidently only he could hide. Ronald Koeman is under severe pressure, and many expect him to lose the job if he fails to win this game. That might be premature talk, but we will go for a stunning Benfica win that will create even more havoc in Barcelona.

Score Prediction: Benfica 1-0 Barcelona (10/1)

Juventus vs Chelsea

The big game on Wednesday, Juventus will welcome the European champions in Turin in a game that will surely be exciting to watch. Both teams are level with 3 points in the table, having secured comfortable wins in the first matchday.

Juventus and Chelsea were in the group stages of the Champions League in 2012/13. Juventus won in Turin and got a draw at Stamford Bridge, which ultimately was costly for Chelsea, as they didn’t progress from the group. Chelsea are slight favourites here, as Juventus have had a quiet start in the new season, but they will be motivated for this game. A draw might be the best result for these two.

Score Prediction: Juventus 1-1 Chelsea (11/2)

Manchester United vs Villarreal

The repeat of the Europa League final from last season, the Red Devils will be up for revenge against Unai Emery’s side on Wednesday. United were stunned by Young Boys in their opening game of the CL season, so they are under pressure to finally get their first points.

They signed multiple superstars in the summer, so all eyes will be on them, and whether they are capable of challenging for the top honours. Villarreal are poor this season in La Liga, so they need a lift, but that won’t come at Old Trafford. The Red Devils simply will have too much for them.

Score Prediction: Manchester United 2-0 Villarreal (13/2)

Wolfsburg vs Sevilla

These teams are in a group in which every team can go to the next round, so don’t be surprised if we see one of those four teams advancing to the later stages of the competition. There just has to be a dark horse every season.

It is difficult to separate Wolfsburg and Sevilla, and they have never faced each other before in a competitive game. Both teams play good, offensive football, so we might be set to watch a high-scoring draw in Germany.

Score Prediction: Wolfsburg 2-2 Sevilla (12/1)
