Reasons for this Tuesday’s Football Tips

Just one victory has been registered by the Trotters this year when beating fellow strugglers Tranmere, and they now face the prospect of a sixth consecutive away defeat when travelling to Blackpool. The hosts are not the most consistent teams having beaten only Southend during 2020, but Oxford, Peterborough and Fleetwood have all lost at Bloomfield Road this term and another home win is tipped for the Tangerines.

 

Oxford vs Accrington Stanley Betting Tip – Oxford win.

A late winner scored by League One leaders Rotherham on Saturday ended a three-game winning sequence for Accrington Stanley but amid an inconsistent season to date, they had earned just one point during January. Stanley now visit an Oxford team once considered candidates for automatic promotion until a slump in form during recent weeks. Those problems may have coincided with their involvement in the FA Cup but two consecutive victories without conceding a goal suggests a revival at the Kassam Stadium, and they could earn another three points.

 

Portsmouth vs MK Dons Betting Tip – Portsmouth win.

Two successive away defeats at Fleetwood and Coventry may have dented the promotion ambitions of Portsmouth, but their impressive home form continues. Southampton remain the only visiting team to win at Fratton Park this season with Pompey winning their last five League One fixtures at the venue. MK Dons will hope to end that impressive home sequence for the hosts but they have failed to win a league game on the road since early September. Although the Dons have lost just three league games since the beginning of December another defeat is likely against an in-form home team.

 

Shrewsbury vs Tranmere Betting Tip – Shrewsbury win.

The woes of Tranmere continue with no League One victories registered this year, although they ended a sequence of six games without scoring when losing 3-1 at Wycombe on Saturday. Rovers have earned just two points this year and now face a trip to Shrewsbury with the hosts beating Doncaster 1-0 on home soil at the weekend. Although the Shrews are generally inconsistent, they can be a useful team at the New Meadow with both Coventry and Bristol City losing at the venue in recent months.  A second consecutive victory is envisaged for Shrewsbury.

 

Barnet vs Dagenham Betting Tip – Barnet win.

Despite their struggles near to the National League relegation zone, Dagenham are unbeaten in six league outings. However, the away form of the Daggers remains a concern with no league wins registered since late September, and they now visit the Hive where Barnet have not lost a match from mid-November onwards. The Bees have won six of their last seven competitive matches at the venue with at least two goals netted in those victories. With just one competitive loss suffered in fourteen previous competitive outings, Barnet are tipped to win another game.
