Liverpool’s Harry Wilson could be loaned to a Premier League club

Liverpool Harry Wilson

Liverpool winger Harry Wilson could be loaned out to a Premier League rival as Jurgen Klopp looks to keep the player on the books, but wants him to play first-team football.

Wilson was a key figure in Derby County’s run to the play-off final last season before returning to his parent club Liverpool. He played in the clubs pre-season friendly matches and scored a long-range effort against Lyon.

Now Wilson looks set to be loaned out again, but this time to Premier League side Bournemouth.

The 22-year-old Wales international would get more game time at the Vitality Stadium than he would at Anfield, and Liverpool feel that Bournemouth would be a good fit to aid the player’s development.

The winger was not in the Liverpool squad for the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City at the weekend and although it looks unlikely that he will ever be a first team regular at Anfield, a Premier League loan could bring the best out of him, after successful loans in the Championship with Hull City and Derby County.

Harry Wilson to Bournemouth?

For the deal to happen before Thursday’s transfer deadline, negotiations are expected to increase today with a deal likely to be resolved by tomorrow if both clubs can make it happen.

Eddie Howe is seen as the perfect manager to aid Wilson’s development and after the Cherries lost David Brookes to a long term injury, the Welshman would fit straight into the Bournemouth squad for the 2019/20 Premier League season.

Wilson scored 17 goals last season as Derby reached the play-off final, only to lose to Aston Villa at Wembley. Since then Frank Lampard has left the club to become the new Chelsea manager.

The Reds are also likely to allow Herbie Kane, Liam Millar and Pedro Chirivella to depart on temporary deals before the window closes.

Liverpool start the 2019/20 Premier League season on Friday and you can see our Liverpool vs Norwich betting tips and predictions for the 8pm kick-off at Anfield.
