Moldova vs France predictions and betting tips for this Thursday’s crucial Euro 2020 qualifier on March 22nd with an anytime goalscorer tip and goals prediction included.

World Cup winners France are back in action on Friday night, and Didier Deschamps’ men are heavily fancied to get their Euro 2020 Qualifying campaign off to a flying start. The boss has warned that his side can’t afford to get complacent, and he knows this won’t be easy. Moldova don’t score many goals, but they will defend diligently throughout, and could make it difficult for Les Bleus. See our Moldova vs France predictions below.

Moldova vs France Preview

It was a mixed Nations League campaign for Les Bleus, finishing second behind the Netherlands. They looked good in patches, but did fail to find the net in their last two matches. They have been dealt a kind draw for the Euro 2020 qualifying campaign, and they will be expected to collect three points from their opener in Chisinau. Traditionally, France have the tendency to make a slow start to qualifying campaigns, and they did drop points against both Belarus and Luxembourg en-route to the World Cup. I’m not expecting Moldova to get anything from this tie, but I do expect them to frustrate the visitors for large periods of this encounter. The hosts are not particularly prolific, but they can take some confidence from their Nations League displays. San Marino are the only side that they’ve beaten since 2013 in competitive games, and France are not about to be added to that exclusive list, but I don’t expect a hammering. Deschamps’ men are long odds-on for this game, so we have to hunt for value elsewhere, and there may be value in backing them to win with Under 3.5 Goals.

It’s hard to envisage Moldova getting on the scoresheet, so having a 0-1, 0-2 and 0-3 score-line on our side is extremely useful. Austria, Wales, Serbia and Russia have all won here fairly recently by just a single goal or two, and although France are better than all of those outfit, their tendency to begin slowly, and the lack of value elsewhere makes this my preferred bet. France Win and Under 3.5 Goals is the first of my Euro 2020 Qualifying predictions for Friday night.

Moldova vs France Goals Predictions

Moldova will be keen to avoid conceding early in this tie, and I expect them to keep it tight early on. Wales needed two late goals to secure a victory in Chisinau, whilst Sweden didn’t start their scoring until after the break when visiting back in 2015. In the Nations League, two of France’s last three games had higher scoring second halves, and I expect that to be the case here. Moldovan players will be highly motivated to keep the score down, but France’s fitness levels just make the difference in the end. The away side have more options on the bench, and there should be plenty of firepower waiting in reserve. Highest Scoring Half – Second Half looks a great bet in this game, and it’s the second of our Moldova vs France betting tips.

Moldova vs France Anytime Goalscorer Tips

Didier Deschamps may opt to mix things up for this tie, and he’s spoken about the fact that Kingsley Coman is back in contention after missing the 2018 World Cup through injury. The Bayern player returned for his club last week, and will be desperate to make up for lost time on the International stage. There are plenty of goalscorers available for the Les Bleus, but Coman could be given the opportunity to shine in a game like this. It’s always advisable to check team news beforehand, but if Coman is given the nod, he should be backed in the anytime goalscorer market. He is 21/10 to score anytime, and is the third of our Euro 2020 qualifying betting tips.

Moldova vs France Match Betting Preview

International football often produces short prices, and France can be backed at 1/10 to win this game. Despite some troubles in qualifiers over the years, there’s little doubt that Deschamps’ men will have too much quality for their opposition. The draw is available at 15/2, and if you’re brave enough to back a Moldovan win, you’ll be suitably rewarded with a price of 25/1.

Plenty of goals are expected by the bookies, and they’re offering 1/2 for Over 2.5 Goals in this tie. Over 3.5 Goals is also a possibility and it’s priced at 5/4 in this one.

Antoine Griezmann scored two of the four goals during France’s Nations League campaign, and he is the 11/4 favourite to break the deadlock. He’s Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud, who can both be backed at 4/1 to score the opener. Nabil Fekir is the heartbeat of the Lyon team, and he’s always a threat. He is 9/2 to grab the first of the match.
