Saturday’s Football League Betting Tips

• Ipswich vs Charlton
• Oxford vs Swindon

Ipswich v Charlton

Draw – 9/4 with bet365.

5th place Ipswich were humbled 3-0 at home by promotion favourites and table toppers Hull City in midweek, this would have given Paul Lambert many things to think about and whether his side are good enough to compete at the top. After their brilliant run of 8 games unbeaten, Charlton were surprisingly defeated 4-2 by strugglers Burton Albion pushing them down to 6th in the table one place behind Saturday’s opponents, again just like Paul Lambert this result would have given Lee Bowyer plenty of things to think about moving forward about his squad. After both teams suffered heavy defeats expect both sides to go into this game cautiously and with a defensive approach leading to an eventual stalemate after 90 minutes.

 

Oxford v Swindon

Oxford -1 – 12/5 with bet365.

After finishing 3rd last season in League One, Oxford United would be deeply disappointed with their poor start to their campaign, they currently sit 18th in the table on 13 points. That being said they have picked up positive results in recent weeks and look to be heading in the right direction, they have picked up 3 wins and a draw in their last 6 games. Newly promoted Swindon are finding away days in League One extremely difficult, in the 5 away league games they have played, they have lost 4 and drawn 1. Oxford have looked good of late picking up a win at Wigan and following that up with an away draw at Portsmouth, expect them to get a comfortable home win and a side who travel poorly.

Port Vale v Leyton Orient

Leyton Orient to score over 1.5 goals – 2/1 with bet365.

In what was a fantastic October for Port Vale, November has taken a turn for the worse they have lost 4 straight league games and have lost 5 out of their last 6 games. Port Vale are struggling for any sort of rhythm subsequently pushing down to 11th in the standings. Leyton Orient will be fancying their chances of 3 points at Port Vale on Saturday, they have won back to back league games keeping clean sheets in both. Leyton Orient have scored at least one goal in their last 10 away matches and expect them to grab a couple of goals on Saturday against an out of form Port Vale side.

 

Bolton v Southend

Bolton to Win and Over 2.5 goals – 15/8 with bet365.

Bolton are enduring a fabulous November so far, they have won 4 straight games in all competitions and currently sit 13th in the table. After a disastrous start to the season the Bolton faithful will be extremely pleased with how things have progressed. After the win at Walsall last weekend Southend would have hoped that victory would have been the much needed boost to kick start their season, however they fell to their 10th defeat of the season when they were defeated 1-0 by Forest Green midweek. Southend currently sit bottom of the league on 5 points with a goal difference of -20, expect Botlon to pile on the misery and collect 3 points in a high scoring game.
