Colchester vs Scunthorpe Predictions

Play-off chasing Colchester United have been in mixed form, however John McGreal’s side got back to winning ways last week with a comprehensive success at Brunton Park. The Essex are a little inconsistent, however they will be expected to pick up three points here. Despite losing their last two matches here (to Cheltenham and Grimsby), they have previously beaten leaders Swindon and in-form Plymouth.

Scunthorpe have taken just 40 points this season and they would be nervously glancing over their shoulders if Stevenage hadn’t been so incompetent. The Iron have struggled in recent weeks despite having a seemingly decent squad. They are winless in three and have been defeated in three of their last five. They’ve also failed to find the net in each of their last two and it’s hard to see them getting anything here.

Betting tip for Colchester vs Scunthorpe – Colchester win – 5/6

What score will Colchester vs Scunthorpe be? 2-0  – 7/1

Mansfield vs Crewe Predictions

Mansfield pulled off one of the surprises of the weekend with an away win at Northampton. The Stags were probably helped by the fact that the Cobblers were reduced to ten men, however, it was a much-needed win and it helped relieve the pressure on manager Graham Coughlan. They still in a lowly position and it’s been a hugely underwhelming season for a side who were much fancied for promotion in August.

Their home form has been a bit better of late, and they are undefeated in each of their last three matches here.

Crewe had one of the simplest tasks of the weekend seven days ago as they easily dispatched of rock-bottom Stevenage. The new leaders are far more effective on their own patch and have struggled at times on the road. They don’t seem able to keep clean sheets on their travels so backing BTTS makes the most sense here.

Betting tip for Mansfield vs Crewe – BTTS – 4/6

What score will Mansfield vs Crewe be? 2-2  – 11/1

Stevenage vs Newport Predictions

It’s really hard to back Newport away from home with any conviction. However, this is their easiest assignment of the season. Mike Flynn’s side are always competitive, however, they sometimes lack the quality. They have picked up some notable results at Rodney Parade, and they should just be able to edge out strugglers Stevenage.

The hosts will be playing National League football next season and a major rebuild will be required. They have lost each of their last eight games and have failed to score in four of their last seven. They did offer a threat against Crewe last weekend, yet never looked confident enough to win the game.

Although Newport are hardly convincing outside of Wales, however there is absolutely no reason why they can’t sneak this.

Betting tip for Stevenage vs Newport – Newport win – 6/4

What score will Stevenage vs Newport be? 0-1 – 6/1

Port Vale vs Crawley Predictions

Port Vale are on the fringes of the play-offs and John Askey’s side are extremely hard to beat. Last weekend, they were held by high-flying Cheltenham, picking up their third draw in a row. Only Swindon and Morecambe have beaten them since the beginning of December and they are particularly tough to penetrate at Vale Park.

They also score plenty of goals at this ground and have notched nine in their last four in Burslem. They should be able to find a way past Crawley this weekend.

The visitors have been in excellent form in recent weeks and are undefeated in each of their last four. John Yems’ side are far more effective on their own patch, and have picked up just a solitary win on the road all season. Although they’ve drawn their last two away clashes, the Red Devils may just come up short here.

Betting tip for Port Vale vs Crawley – Port Vale win – 11/10

What score will Port Vale vs Crawley be? 2-1  – 8/1

Macclesfield vs Walsall Predictions

Macclesfield remain in trouble both on and off the field. They had been hard to beat earlier in the campaign, however they’ve lost four of their last five and could struggle once again this weekend. Macc have failed to find the net in each of their last three outings and are woefully short of firepower.

Walsall have enjoyed a recent resurgence and although it’s too late for a play-off push, the Saddlers are certainly laying the groundwork for next year. They have some talented players, and Darrell Clarke is now finally getting the best out of his players. They are unbeaten in each of their last five and won at Forest Green and drew at Rodney Parade during that run.

Their away record of 7-3-7 is one of the handiest in the division and they should be able to take three points here.

Betting tip for Macclesfield vs Walsall – Walsall win – 7/5

What score will Macclesfield vs Walsall be? 0-2 – 10/1

Exeter vs Salford Predictions

Exeter have gone off the boil at just the wrong time. The Grecians slipped up again last weekend and although they still sit fourth in the table, they are starting to slip away from the automatic promotion contenders. They are winless in their last four and worryingly, they’re conceding sloppy goals. Having said that, they’ve extremely tough to beat at St.James’ Park and haven’t lost here since Sept 28th.

They’ve failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last four here, so perhaps backing BTTS is the best option in this one.

Salford were victorious last weekend courtesy of an Ashley Hunter double. They’ve won four of their last five on the road and the Ammies could make this tough for the Devon club. They’ve also netted in seven of their last eight outings on the road and they should be able to hit the target here as well.

Betting tip for Exeter vs Salford – BTTS – 4/5

What score will Exeter vs Salford be? 1-1  – 24/5
