Millwall have scraped over the line in the quest for Premier League survival, despite not winning a match in their last five matches. Manager Neil Harris has kept the Millwall resiliance going, but they have been struggling to score goals and just two goals in their last five matches illustrates that perfectly. The highlight of their season was the Millwall vs Everton FA Cup tie, which they won 3-2 thanks to a last minute winner, but in the Championship it has been a poor campaign and changes need to be made over the summer.
Bristol City looked set for a play in the play-offs, but have hit a poor run of form at the worst possible time – as the season end approaches, they’ve lost three of their last four and now need Derby to drop points in both of their remaining matches to have any chance of a top six finish. Lee Johnson’s side have crumbled under the pressure and the final nail in the coffin could come tonight. It is hard to believe that this is the same Bristol City side who went on a nine game winning streak earlier in the season. They’ve now dropped out the play-off places and haven’t won in four matches.
With that in mind, the first of this week’s Millwall vs Bristol City predictions is for the game to end in a draw. The best odds for this are 13/5 with bet365.
Given that we’re already predicting no goalscorer in this match (this is better than betting on 0-0) we’d also recommend under 1.5 goals for a betting tip. There have been under 2.5 goals in 55% of Millwall’s home matches this season, so we’re hoping that there will be less than two in this one. Under 2.5 goals would be the safer of the bets here at 9/10, but go with under 1.5 goals for the much better odds of 3/1 with bet365.
This one might have the feel of an end of season game about it. Millwall will be celebrating following their -0- with with Stoke City at the weekend was eventually enough to secure Championship status, that was after Rotherham lost 2-1 to West Brom, bringing home our daily treble in the process! It looks almost impossible for Bristol City to get into the play-off places now, especially with the run of form they’re on, so a 0-0 wouldn’t be the biggest surprise in this game.
We always recommend betting on ‘no goalscorer’ rather than a 0-0 draw because if one of the teams win 1-0 because of an own goal, your 0-0 bet would be a loser, where as no goalscorer would still win.
