Notts County haven’t been able to find any consistency so far this season, and Neal Ardley’s men have struggled to put together a sequence of results. They are yet to win back-to-back games since dropping down from League Two, and although they are unbeaten in four of their last five starts, their 3-1 defeat at Yeovil this weekend was a deeply frustrating one of those travelling supporters. Their battering of Chorley on BH Monday was seen as a potential turning point, but the Magpies weren’t able to build upon that convincing victory. They have a squad which is more than good enough to challenge for promotion, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the club make a late dash for the top spots in 2020, but at the moment, they are far from top half material. Nathan Tyson, Wes Thomas and Enzio Boldewijn all offer significant threat, and that has been evident so far. County have netted in every game since the opening day, but just like last season, their defence has continued to leak goals. Ardley’s men have just a single clean sheet to their name, and they are unlikely to keep a shutout against a decent Solihull Moors outfit.

Solihull Moors were one of last season’s surprise packages, and Tim Flower’s side made a decent start to the 2019-2020 campaign as well. However, their recent form could be a concern for fans. In front of the BT Sport cameras, they laboured to a 2-1 defeat at home to Eastleigh. It was a poor performance against the Spitfires, who were previously winless on the road. They were then downed by an impressed Halifax Town side at the weekend, making it three losses in a row. It is still early days, but it has seen the Moors drop to seventh position. They were much better at the Shay, and they did have the ball in the back of the net late on, but the flag had already been raised. It was an encouraging performance, but they must start taking their chances. The absence of Paul McCallum is proving to a problem with the ruthless 26-year old having already netted four times this campaign.

This match will surely be one of the most entertaining games on this midweek fixture list. Notts County do score goals at home, but they also find it hard to keep clean sheets. Solihull Moors created chances at the weekend, and probably should have drawn level late on. They’ve also failed to keep the opposition off the scoresheet since August 6th, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see both teams find the net here. It’s 7/10 for Both Teams to Score? Yes which seems absolutely fair enough for this clash at Meadow Lane.

Notts County have a number of goalscorers in their side, and these are players who have plenty of EFL experience under their belt. One of the more reliable operators in recent weeks has been Kristian Dennis. The striker has netted in each of County’s last two home matches, and scored at the weekend at Huish Park, He is 7/4 to find the net here, and is worth backing once again.
