Over 2.5 Goals Tips

Cardiff vs Luton
Luton were involved in one of the opening weekend’s craziest games. The Hatters scored three times at Kennilworth, and survived a missed penalty. Graeme Jones’ side aren’t here to just simply sit deep, and they should play some very entertaining football this year. They make the trip to South Wales for their first away game of the season, and they could cause a few problems for the Bluebirds. Neil Warnock’s men were beaten on their return to the second tier, going 3-2 at the DW Stadium. They were quite open at the back, although they probably created enough in the first half to be further ahead. Worryingly for Cardiff fans, their side was unable to stem the tide, and once the momentum went Wigan’s way, they just could not get out of their own half. They should be stronger at home, and I’d expect them to find a way through the Luton back-line on a couple of occasions here. It’s a fraction odds-on with 888Sport, and that looks a decent place to start.

Middlesbrough vs Brentford
Sticking with the Championship, there could be a few goals at the Riverside Stadium as well. With just 40 goals during the entire campaign at this stadium under Tony Pulis, the Boro faithful will be pleased to see that Jonathon Woodgate has implemented a more attacking style of football. The boss saw his side pour forward at every opportunity against Luton, and with Britt Assombalonga and Ashley Fletcher in the side, they have plenty of firepower. Lewis Wing also tends to shoot from distance, and there’s every chance that he could make it two from two. Brentford achieved one of the highest XG ratings of the opening weekend despite being unable to find the back of the net, and they surely won’t be as wasteful this time around. They will be buoyed by the fact that the Teessiders looked so open at the back, and this should be a decent spectacle for the neutral.
Oxford vs Peterborough
Peterborough games are always shorter when it comes to goal markets, and we expect the Posh to be involved in another entertaining 90 minutes. They conceded three times to Fleetwood at London Road, and their defence could come under pressure at the Kassam as well. Oxford drew 1-1 with Sunderland, and although they weren’t free-flowing going forward, they created enough to find the back of the net. With Tarique Fosu and now Ben Woodburn in the side, they have plenty of individual talent in their squad. Posh also have a number of threats going forward, with the likes of Ivan Toney and Mo Eisa always looking likely to find the back of the net. That coupled with the creativity of Marcus Maddison should keep the Oxford defence occupied throughout this contest. This should be a very entertaining game between two teams who play decent football, and there will surely be at least three goals scored in this one.
Plymouth vs Colchester
Plymouth were one of the most eyecatching performers of the opening weekend, and they netted three times without reply against Crewe at Gresty Road. Ryan Lowe has got his side playing some lovely football, and with Danny Mayor claiming an assist, they should also create plenty of chances at Home Park. The result was a little unfair on Crewe, who did actually create a few opportunities, and the Plymouth defence looked far from assured when coming under pressure. Colchester could only draw 1-1 at the weekend, and they will have to be a little more clinical in this one. The home fans will be hoping for plenty of entertainment, and their wish may just be granted here. Luke Norris looked the biggest threat for Colchester, and he will be a constant threat, although don’t be surprised if Plymouth cover the Over 2.5 Goals on their own in this one.
