Chelsea have begun each of their four Premier League matches on the front foot scoring first in their last three games. Lampard has focused on giving young players a chance in light of the transfer ban. Tammy Abraham has hit four in the last two matches and Mason Mount has looked a vital figure in the Chelsea attack. The Blues have tended to fade in the latter stages of games and have conceded late equalisers to both Leicester and Sheffield United.
Wolves haven’t had the best of starts the new season. The added distraction of the Europa League may be affecting Wolves’ Premier League form as they have taken just three points from the opening four games. Leicester, Manchester United, Burnley and Everton is a tough opening schedule but nonetheless, Wolves fans could be forgiven for expecting more from their side.
This is likely to be another open-ended game for Chelsea. Wolves enjoy playing on the counterattack and Chelsea’s high pressing game should play into their hands. Even so, we expect Chelsea to take their chances in a high scoring affair and snatch a win.
With Chelsea’s defensive frailties both teams to score seems like a no brainer in what is set to be a high scoring affair. There’s plenty of value to be had here with BTTS at 7/10. A conservative over 2.5 goals is worth backing at 10/11 with Chelsea’s games averaging 3.75 goals a game so far. Over 3.5 goals looks a very good bet at 9/4.
Chelsea’s fast starts always look like producing an early goal. This was the case against Norwich and Wolves conceded twice within the opening 15 minutes against Everton. Chelsea to be leading after 15 mins is priced at 6/1.
