Liverpool Predicted Starting Line-up vs Bayern Munich

Liverpool predictions and betting tips

Liverpool have some major defensive issues ahead of their Champions League last 16 first leg tie with Bayern Munich this week and Jurgen Klopp looks to have made a decision as to who will play in central defence.

Virgil Van Dijk is suspended and Joe Gomez is still out with an ankle injury. That means Joel Matip is the only available centre half to Jurgen Klopp as Dejan Lovren is also set to miss out with a hamstring injury. This leaves Klopp with a decision to be made, and it looks like Brazilian Fabinho will be tasked with filling in alongside Matip for the visit of Bayern Munich.

Predicted Liverpool Team vs Bayern Munich

Alisson will start in goal and Trent Alexander-Arnold is available again after an injury kept him out for a few weeks. Andrew Robertson will play in his usual left back position. With Van Dijk, Lovern and Joe Goez all unavailable, Fabinho and Matip will be the make-shift central defensive pairing tasked with keeping Robert Lewandowski quiet. He’s already scored eight Champions League goals so far this season!

In midfield, James Milner is expected to play with Naby Keita or Jordan Henderson. Georginio Wijnaldum will take the third place in the middle of the park.

Up front it will be the usual trio of Saido Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino as Liverpool look to get goals to take back to Munich for the second leg.
