Premier League betting tips

While a trio of Premier League fixtures might have once again fallen by the wayside, England’s top-flight will make its return from an enforced break this weekend.

With a string of noteworthy clashes from up and down the country, the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham all have the chance to climb to the top of the pile.

Ahead of what looks set to be a stacked Premier League schedule over both Saturday and Sunday, we have taken a glance at a few interesting betting tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

12.30pm Wolves vs Manchester City

Mounting another stunning Etihad comeback on Wednesday night as they snatched a 2-1 win against Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City will be looking to keep up their momentum here.

Unbeaten in each of their opening eight appearances across all competitions, Pep Guardiola’s superstars have also continued to gain a fearsome reputation for their free-scoring displays in the final third.

Already notching 20 Premier League strikes since opening the 2022/23 campaign, the ex-Barcelona boss also has a new attacking icon who is enjoying a remarkable start to life in England’s top-flight.

Dragging City over the finish line in midweek after bagging an acrobatic winner against his former club, Erling Haaland has only further cemented his spot as one of world football’s most coveted strikers.

Including consecutive hat-tricks against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest last month, the 22-year-old has already notched 10 domestic goals for himself.

As for Wolves, while Saturday’s hosts might have picked up their first Premier League victory of the season thanks to a 1-0 win against Southampton on September 3rd, Bruno Lage’s side have struggled to find much of a clinical edge.

In fact, continuing on from the summer break, the European dreamers have failed to score more than a single goal in any of their last nine straight Premier League appearances.

Likewise, with City winning each of their last two trips to Molineux by an aggregate score of 8-2, Wolves should be bracing themselves for a huge task this weekend.

Tip: Erling Haaland to outscore the opposition @ 13/10 with Ladbrokes.

17:30 Tottenham vs Leicester City

Missing out on the chance to claim back-to-back Champions League victories in midweek, Tottenham will be seeking an immediate response on Saturday evening. Eventually getting hit with a late 2-0 loss away at Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon, Antonio Conte’s side should be glad to make a return to domestic duties here.

Last seen in top-flight action picking up a 2-1 victory at home against Fulham, Spurs are one of just two Premier League sides who can boast an unbeaten start to the 2022/23 campaign.

With another top-four finish at the top of their agenda this season, Conte will undoubtedly be calling on Harry Kane to spearhead their charge this weekend.

While Son Heung-min might still be waiting to open his account, the England skipper has already bagged five Premier League strikes from his first six appearances. Although the three-time Golden Boot winner might have drawn a blank out in Lisbon earlier in the week, Kane will be looking to cash in on a Leicester side who are in the midst of a rather public nightmare.

Heading into the enforced break with a 5-2 drumming away at Brighton on September 4th, the Foxes have put just a single point on the board and open this weekend’s fixtures sat rock-bottom of the table.

Likewise, already shipping 16 Premier League strikes – the second-worst defensive tally so far this season – Brendan Rodgers’ struggling squad should face another stern test here.

Tip: Harry Kane to score anytime @ 17/20 with DAZN Bet.

Sunday, September 18th

12:00 Brentford vs Arsenal

While Arsenal might have seen their 100% start to the season come to an abrupt end thanks to a 3-1 loss away at Manchester United on September 4th, the Gunners do appear to be riding a real wave.

Despite seeing their Europa League showdown against PSV get scrapped earlier in the week, Mikel Arteta’s side do mark their return to action on Sunday lunchtime holding a slender lead at the top of the table.

However, although the top-four contenders might have won five of their opening six Premier League appearances, the former Manchester City coach could have a headache over his side’s recent struggles at the back.

It should be highlighted, Arteta’s youngsters have picked up just a single clean sheet from their previous six matchups across all competitions.

While Arsenal might be tipped as a standout pick with the bookmakers here, a high-flying Brentford could be smelling the chance to spring an upset in west London.

Last seen opening September with an action-packed 5-2 victory at home against Leeds, the Bees have lost just one of their first six Premier League outings.

With attacking talisman Ivan Toney rewarded with a first England call-up on Thursday, the one-time Newcastle starlet could be looking to test a leaky Arsenal defence.

Including a stellar hat-trick against Leeds a fortnight ago, Toney has already notched five top-flight strikes so far this season – a tally that is only topped by Haaland and Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrović.

Tip: Both teams to score @ 13/20 with DAZN Bet.
