Saturday League One Betting Tips
Burton vs Blackpool – Burton Win
Burton halted AFC Wimbledon’s decent run of form in midweek and the Brewers will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins at the Pirelli when they take on Blackpool this weekend. They are now three games unbeaten in front of their owns fans and have collected three clean sheets in a row in Staffordshire. In fact, five clean sheets in their last eight would point to the fact that Nigel Clough’s side are extremely hard to break down and Blackpool could have their work cut out here. With just two goals conceded in over 450 minutes of football at this ground, the Seasiders are going to need to produce something special in order to break them down. Simon Grayson’s men have been less than creative in recent weeks and came up short when faced with a tough Bolton rearguard three weeks ago. They’ve won just twice in two months and have scored just six in seven coming into this game. The injury to Nathan Delfounso didn’t help matters and the club are struggling to create chances when Liam Feeney is well-marshalled by the opposition. Burton should be able to keep their visitors at arms length in this one.
Oxford vs Rochdale – Oxford Win and Over 2.5 Match Goals
Oxford have been firing on all cylinders lately and Karl Robinson’s men have been excellent going forward. The Yellows have scored 16 times in their last five games and even without the services of Ben Woodburn, they’ve been scoring for fun. Tarique Fosu, James Henry, Matty Taylor and Cameron Brannagan have all been getting in on the action and they are unlikely to draw a blank here. They also come off the back of a restful period having not played in midweek. They’ve won their last three home games in a row and have scored in every single fixture at the Kassam so far. Only Wycombe and Peterborough have scored more home goals this season than Oxford and it should be business as usual on Saturday. Rochdale are actually playing reasonably well and have netted five times in their last two matches. Brian Barry-Murphy has his side playing some decent possession-based football and they should play their part in an entertaining spectacle. They’ve not kept a clean sheet in their last four away games and have conceded 12 goals during that period. Goals are expected.
Rotherham vs Wycombe – Rotherham Win
It’s hard to believe that Paul Warne was under pressure earlier in the season. The Millers boss was coming in for some criticism following a slow start to the campaign although he’s managed to turn things around in South Yorkshire and his side are playing some excellent stuff. They are on the fringes of the play-offs having won three of their last four League One games and they’ll be looking to build upon their midweek victory at Portman Road. Very few sides will keep a clean sheet in Suffolk this season and they have now scored nine times in four matches. The turning point was their 4-0 victory against previously in-form Coventry and they should have enough to collect three points here. Wycombe have only won one of their six away games this season despite sitting third in the table. Wanderers have managed to eek out a number of draws on their travels, but they could find this tough. They weren’t at their best against Blackpool on Tuesday night and they could struggle to contain a confident Rotherham side.
