How Our Horse Racing Tips Are Picked
Every tip starts with a model that scores each runner against the others in its own race. It reads the morning racecards for every GB and Irish meeting — runners, jockeys, trainers, draw, headgear, official ratings, form figures and speed ratings — alongside each horse’s last 50 races and its trainer’s form over the past 14 days. Each runner is then scored on six things, which combine into a win chance for every horse in the race:

| Angles | 10% | Signals of improvement or a problem — first-time headgear, a wind operation, a new trainer, a sensible gap since its last run; a long layoff counts against |
Those win chances were checked against how the betting market prices races, so the model isn’t overconfident.
How Each Bet Is Chosen
Each type of tip is selected on its own rules, so the bet matches the job it’s doing.
- Main tip. The most likely winner, with the model’s chance blended 50/50 with the chance implied by the BoyleSports price — because the market holds information the form can’t see, such as stable confidence and late fitness news.
- Value pick. A horse whose price looks bigger than it should be. It has to sit in a sensible price range, show a clear edge over its odds and a real win chance, and a filter keeps out wild long shots. If the main tip is also the best value, it’s tagged as both.
- Each-way. Any selection at 8/1 or bigger in a race that pays places is advised each-way, with the BoyleSports place terms shown.
- Lucky 15. The four strongest selections of the day on form alone — one per race. The market blend isn’t used here, so a big-priced horse goes in if the form says so, and nothing shorter than 4/6 is allowed in.
- Accumulator. Four main tips priced between 1/3 and 2/1, all to win — the four most likely winners in that range. The accumulator is picked first, then the Lucky 15 from the remaining races, so the two never share a horse or a race.
How to Read Each Tip
Each selection comes with badges, a plain-English reason and our win chance, so you can see exactly why it’s tipped. The badges flag a horse’s course and distance record at a glance:
