Roma vs AC Milan Predictions and Betting Tips: Serie A Preview

Roma betting tips

Roma vs AC Milan predictions and betting tips for this Sunday’s Serie A fixture on February 3rd with an anytime goalscorer tip and goals prediction included.

It’s been a poor week for Roma. Eusebio Di Francesco is under pressure after his side surrendered a healthy lead against Atalanta last weekend before completely collapsing at the hands of Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia. The boss is adamant that he’s sticking around and he requires three points here at Stadio Olimpico in order to win back over the fans. AC Milan knocked Napoli out of the Coppa Italia in midweek and held the same opposition to a goalless draw last weekend. Things finally appear to be stabilising on the field for the club although there is still a lack of goals in the side. Can Roma bounce back from a tumultuous seven days? See our Roma vs AC Milan predictions below.

Roma vs AC Milan Predictions

Despite reports of his position being untenable, Di Francesco is likely to be taking charge of his side for this game. The former Sassuolo boss was rumoured to be leaving the club following their crushing defeat in the cup which brought embarrassment upon the club. Roma haven’t been bad in the league but the way they collapsed at the hands of Atalanta last week was a concern. The Bergamo-club are in excellent form and it was no surprise to see them get something from the game but Roma should have been able to see out the game in a professional manner. They’ve only suffered one defeat at home all season and they’ve beaten Torino, Sampdoria and Lazio here already this campaign. Today, they face a tough task unlocking an AC Milan side who barely concede these days. Since December 2nd, they’ve shipped just two goals and Lazio were the last side to score against them away from home. That goal arrived on November 25th. Only Juve have a better defensive record on their travels than Gattuso’s men and I think they can keep things tight once again. The draw is the first of our Roma vs AC Milan predictions for Sunday evening.

Roma vs AC Milan Goals Betting Tips

When two top six sides meet in Serie A, the markets automatically assume that a high-scoring game will take place. That has been the opposite with AC Milan and they held Napoli to a goalless draw last weekend. The Naples side are free-scoring but were kept off the scoresheet and their watertight back-line could hold firm again here. With Over 2.5 Goals priced at 8/11, there is significantly value in backing a tight, cagey affair here. This bet would have landed in eight of AC Milan’s ten away games this season and in each of their last six. Only one of Roma’s home games has featured fewer than three goals but it’s the visitor’s style that might be imposed on the game here especially considering Roma’s lack of confidence coming into the game. Under 2.5 Goals is the second of our Roma vs AC Milan betting tips in Serie A.

Roma vs AC Milan Anytime Goalscorer Predictions

New signing Krzysztof Piatek made an instant impact with a brace in midweek and the Polish striker, who signed from Genoa last week will be keen to add to his account. The 23-year has netted 18 times in 24 games this season and he’s in terrific form coming into this tie. He could just give AC Milan the cutting edge that they need. The former Cracovia-striker looks like an excellent purchase and he could hurt the flimsy Roma defence in this tie. He is the third of our Roma vs AC Milan predictions and is our selection to score during the 90 minutes here.

Roma vs AC Milan Match Betting Preview

Roma start as the 5/4 favourites for this tie and they will be expected to continue their excellent home form. The visitors are hard to beat and they can be backed at 23/10. The draw is our selection and it is likely to be popular with bettors. It’s 12/5.

Roma’s home games have been extremely high-scoring this season and therefore, goals are expected. Both Teams to Score? Yes is available at 4/7 and it’s 8/11 for Over 2.5 Goals.

Edin Dzeko might face a ban if he’s found guilty of spitting of the officials. If he plays however, he can be backed at 7/2 to break the deadlock in this tie. Our selection Krzysztof Piatek is the second favourite in this market and can be backed at 11/2. Patrik Schick is always capable of a goal or two and he is 13/2 to open the scoring here.
