League Two Betting Tips and Predictions for Saturday 29th February and a 117/1 Accumulator

There is another set of League Two games this weekend and we have taken a look at the 3pm matches and picked out betting tips for each game – the fixtures include Grimsby vs Northampton, Mansfield vs Swindon and Port Vale vs Scunthorpe

Cambridge vs Carlisle Prediction

Mark Bonner has been a revelation since taking over from Colin Calderwood at Cambridge and the U’s are now unbeaten in their last five matches. They’ve won four of those five encounters and have conceded just twice. They managed to keep high flying Plymouth off the scoresheet at the weekend, and they will be full of confidence coming into this game.

Carlisle are still not quite safe, although they are definitely too good to go down. Having said that, they have failed to win any of their last five matches, and have won just four times on the road all season.

The hosts have recently beaten Bradford and Colchester at this stadium and they shouldn’t have too many problems with the Cumbrians.

Grimsby vs Northampton Prediction

Grimsby are playing exciting football under Ian Holloway and they were victorious again in midweek. They are willing to outscore their opponents and have plenty of young, hungry players in their squad. At home, they’ve won three of their last four matches, and the fans have been enjoying recent developments at Blundell Park.

Their last four home matches have contained 17 goals, and plenty of excitement will be expected once again.

Despite enjoying a decent start to 2020, Northampton have gone off the boil in recent weeks and have lost four of their last five matches in League Two. They’ve conceded five goals in their last two away games, and may struggle to contain the lively Mariners here.

Mansfield vs Swindon Prediction

Mansfield are worryingly close to the relegation zone and they are just four points clear of second bottom Morecambe. The Stags have improved under Graham Coughlan, although they are still wildly inconsistent and have W2, D2 and L3 of their last seven outings. They are better at home, and are unbeaten in their last three matches here, however, this is likely to be incredibly tough.

Swindon continue to lead the way under Richie Wellens, and the Robins’ high press is causing plenty of problems for L2 sides. They’ve won three of their last four games, and recently took all three points at Sixfields. They have an 8-4-5 record on the road, and despite some inconsistencies, they should have enough to take all three points here.

Morecambe vs Crewe Prediction

Morecambe are nine points clear of bottom club Macclesfield, and they have certainly improved under Derek Adams. The Shrimps have lost just two of their last seven games in League Two and come off the back of a decent draw at Brunton Park. At home, they’re unbeaten in their last five games, and have taken something from six of their last seven games.

Crewe remain one of the most aesthetically pleasing sides in the division, and although they sit second in the table, they are struggling to pick up maximum points on the road. They’ve won just seven times on the road, and have picked up a solitary away victory since December 21st.

Crewe haven’t kept an away clean sheet since November 26th and with Morecambe playing reasonably well, that run is likely to continue here. BTTS appears the most logical way of playing this one.

Port Vale vs Scunthorpe Prediction

Port Vale find themselves on the edge of the play-offs and they are incredibly tough to beat. John Askey’s men were below par last time out, however, they should be better on the home turf this weekend. They stuck three past Colchester a fortnight ago, and have also beaten Exeter and Leyton Orient here in recent months.

They’ve scored eight times in their last three matches and they should be able to find a way past the Iron.

Although they’ve improved since Russ Wilcox replaced Paul Hurst, Scunny are still a little inconsistent. Their away form is a tough ropey, and they have conceded three times in each of their last two away games. Despite keeping back-to-back clean sheets at home, the visitors are less reliable on the road and Vale should be able to just get over the line.

Stevenage vs Walsall Prediction

Things are looking bleak for Stevenage, and although there were some positive signs last week, it is unlikely to be enough to keep them up. The men from the Lamex haven’t been potent enough in the final third this season and have drawn three blanks in their last five.

They’ve lost each of their last seven games in League Two and this is a tough ask against a Walsall side who tend to be better on the road. The Saddlers are unbeaten in their last four and have recently left both Rodney Parade and the New Lawn with something to show for their efforts.

With a 7-3-7 record on the road, Walsall should have too much for beleaguered Stevenage.
