I’m backing Liverpool to continue their fine form and win this one against Athletico at Anfield. They’ve not lost a competitive game since their defeat away to Brighton on the 19th of May, with four wins from four in the league, leaving them top of the pile. Madrid have just one win in four, and I think Liverpool will win this one at home.
Mo Salah to Score or Assist
Mo Salah hasn’t had the brightest of starts to the season in terms of performances, but he’s still scored two and assisted one in four league matches. In his nine appearances in the Champions League last season, he scored three and assisted four. I think he’s good odds to score or assist here.
Two Players to be Carded
We’ve gone for two players to be carded here – Conor Gallagher of Athletico Madrid and Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate. Former Chelsea man Gallagher is yet to be carded this season, but we all know he likes to be physical from his time in the Prem. He picked up two bookings last season in La Liga. Konate has made four fouls in his four league appearances this season, picking up one yellow card in the process. Last season, he was carded five times in the league and twice in the Champions League, as well as one in the Carabao Cup and one in the Community Shield.
