Morgan Rogers has scored once in the league for Villa this season, with 12 shots and six shots on target in 11 games. He has also had two shots on target in his four Europa League appearances. He averages just over 0.5 shots on target per game. I think Villa will create a good amount of chances here, and expect him to be at the heart of the action. He’s good odds to have at least one shot on target.
John McGinn to be carded (10/3)
John McGinn will still be on a high after he helped Scotland qualify for their first World Cup since 1998. It’s back to domestic action now, though, and his full focus will be on helping Villa continue their good run. He has made 12 fouls in his 11 league appearances, with five fouls committed in four Europa League matches. With an average of more than one foul per game, he has picked up two cards for Villa this season – one in the league and one in the Europa League – and was also booked once in his six appearances for Scotland in the World Cup qualifiers.

It’s slightly shorter odds, but I reckon this selection lands easily. McGinn isn’t shy of making a foul, but he also wins a lot of them. He’s excellent at getting his body in between the ball and the opponent, and has been fouled 24 times in 16 competitive matches for Villa this season.

The second player I think is a good shout for a card is Leeds United’s Ethan Ampadu. The Welshman has been carded three times in his nine Premier League appearances so far this season, making 16 fouls, giving him an average of just under 1.5 fouls per game. Coming up against the likes of Ollie Watkins, who is a handful, I think there’s a good chance he will pick up his fourth card of the league campaign.
