Wolves vs Southampton
The first of tonight’s two FA Cup fifth-round matches is the all-Premier League tie between Wolves and Southampton. Wolves have only won one of their last four matches and are struggling for goals without Raul Jiminez. In fact, they’ve only won three times in their last 12 fixtures and two of those wins were in this competition, against Crawley and Crystal Palace.
Southampton also come into this match on a bad run having lost their last four games, including that 9-0 drubbing at Manchester United. The FA Cup will be seen as a good chance by both teams to get to Wembley and with little chance of getting relegated or getting into the top six, their seasons depend on this domestically.
We saw a thrilling game at Goodison Park last night between Everton and Tottenham and although this one won’t finish 4-4, extra time could be needed to separate them.
Draw – 42/19 with FanTeam.
Barnsley vs Chelsea
The final tie of the FA Cup fifth round sees Chelsea travel to Barnsley at 8pm. The Championship side are having a good season and come into this match off the back of three good results – beating leaders Norwich and drawing with Cardiff and Nottingham Forest. This is a different task all thgether though, and even with home advantage it is difficult to see Barnsley troubling Chelsea here.
Thomas Tuchel has made a good start to life as Chelsea manager and they’ve won their last three matches, conceding just one goal in that time.
This should be quite an easy night for Chelsea, even with some changes being made to their starting 11.
Chelsea to win (-1.5 goals handicap) – 5/8 with FanTeam.
