International Friendly Betting Tips for Wednesday 7th October

German predictions

Most of the teams who are in international friendly action this week are gearing up for the delayed Euro 2020 tournament which is due to take place next summer.

You can see what bets Fabio has picked out for this week’s Wednesday’s matches where the likes of Croatia, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain are all in friendly action.

Some people are questioning whether there matches should be going on at all, given the Coronavirus crisis and increased risk of players contracting the illness whist away from their club bubbles.

However, these games are all scheduled for Wednesday 7th October and Fabio has picked out his football betting tips for the games below.

Cyprus vs Czech Republic

Czech Republic to Win – 4/6 with Paddy Power.

Cyprus are the weaker side on paper both in terms of form and personnel. The Czech Republic have recorded wins over Kosovo and Slovakia in their last four internationals whilst their opponents have lost five on the bounce.

The Czechs have firepower in Patrik Schick and have two West Ham players fresh off the back of a 3-0 win over Leicester in Tomas Soucek and Vladamir Coufal. They have failed to score in just one of their last eight games and are likely to come out on top against Cyprus.

Switzerland vs Croatia

Ivan Perisic to Score – 16/5 with Paddy Power.

The 2018 World Cup finalist have a quality (although aging) side and will be in our Euro 2020 betting tip considerations for sure. Among their star players is Ivan Perisic, who has a very impressive goalscoring record for Croatia. The Inter Milan winger has scored 26 goals in 90 caps for his national side. Nine goals in the last two years highlight his exceptional goal threat.

The Swiss have been uncharacteristically leaky in recent internationals, failing to keep a clean sheet in any of their last three. This includes a consolation goal against minnows, Gibraltar, and a 2-1 defeat to Ukraine.

Germany vs Turkey

Germany to Win to Nil – 6/5 with Bet365.

The German national side are rebuilding after a tumultuous couple of years. Their recent internationals have gone relatively well and there are certainly a side on the up. Germany have no shortage of top-class players and can afford to rest and rotate whilst expecting to win comfortably.

Turkey have sprung the odd surprise in recent times with positive displays against France. Nevertheless, they will be firmly up against it here. Their only win in the last five came against Andorra, and they have failed to score against Serbia, Hungary, and Iceland in three of their last four.

Netherlands vs Mexico

Over 2.5 Goals – 17/20 with Bet365.

Four of Mexico’s last five international have seen over 2.5 goals scored. El Tri have put three past Ecuador, the USA, and Guatemala in that time. They also suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat at the hands of Argentina.

The Netherlands are brimming with attacking options these days and have been involved in many high-scoring affairs in recent years, particularly against Germany on more than one occasion. With nothing on the line and two strong attacking sides facing off, over 2.5 goals looks well priced.

Portugal vs Spain.

Portugal to Win – 17/10 with BetVictor.

This is easily the most exciting Portugal squad in a generation. Plenty of promising young talents will be keen to make their mark whilst Cristiano Ronaldo closes in on another record. The Portugal captain has his eyes on the record amount of international goals scored and will take every opportunity he can get.

Neither side will take this game lightly even if it is a friendly on paper. The battle for Iberian dominance will be fierce and backing the defending European champions would give you a healthy return all things considered should it come off.

Poland vs Finland

Poland to Win – 8/11 with Bet365.

The Finnish national side have had a good couple of years in which they have made excellent progress and qualified for the Euros. However, defeats to Wales and Greece in their last three still show that there is some way to go before they can be considered on a similar level to the likes of Poland.

Poland have won four of their last five, with their only defeat coming at the hands of the Netherlands. Fired by the mercurial Robert Lewandowski, even if he is rested, Poland stand a good chance of coming away with a victory here.

France vs Ukraine

France to Win and Over 2.5 Goals – 10/11 with Paddy Power.

The reigning World Cup Champions have won four on the bounce after replicating their 2018 final 4-2 victory over Croatia last time out. Their squad is absolutely stacked with talent in every department and they will be strong no matter who is fielded.

Their opponents, Ukraine, had a very impressive European qualifying campaign, in which they beat Portugal at home. A 4-0 loss to Spain in their last international may bring them back down to Earth but this is certainly a squad capable of scoring against France.
