Burnley vs Leicester Betting Tips

Burnley have lost seven of their last nine league games and are just three points above the relegation zone.

The Clarets have yet to win a game against a current top half team all season, taking just one point from 11 matches.

Leicester’s Jamie Vardy is the leading Premier League scorer with 17, three clear of second.

Last week’s 2-1 defeat to Southampton was the first time Leicester have lost to anyone outside the current top five.

Leicester to Win

The Foxes are currently suffering their worst run of form this season. Three defeats in their last five sounds bad but when you consider that two of those were against the current top two, The Foxes slump doesn’t seem so bad.

Leicester have been remarkably consistent against ‘inferior’ opposition this campaign. Brendan Rodgers’ side have dropped points on eight occasions, only two of those came against sides outside the bottom seven. A 2-1 win over Burnley in the reverse fixture only strengthens Leicester’s case.

Vardy to Score Anytime

Jamie Vardy is having the season of his life with Leicester. He is on course to eclipse his goal tally from Leicester’s title-winning campaign and is just three goals off joining the Premier League’s 100 club.

Vardy scored in eight consecutive league games earlier in the campaign was unfortunate not to extend that to nine when his flick on was awarded as an own goal. The former England international then went on to score against Manchester City before missing two of the next four league games.

Over 2.5 Goals Tip

Leicester may not have been at their prolific best in recent weeks but that hasn’t stopped the goals flying in. Each of their last five league matches have featured over 2.5 goals. Across the campaign, The Foxes have averaged over two goals scored per game.

As previously mentioned, Burnley’s record against top opposition is incredibly poor. The Clarets have three or more in six of their nine games against the current top eight. All but two of those matches featured over 2.5 goals. This will be their final home match against a current top four team – their other three ended 3-0, 4-1 and 4-2 to the away side.
