Aston Villa vs Burnley Bet Builder Tips – 75/1 Prediction for the Premier League Clash

Current image: Aston Villa betting tips

Aston Villa and Burnley have both had poor starts to their Premier League season, sitting 16th and 18th respectively. Nobody expected Villa to be sitting on just six points from six games, given their successes in recent seasons, and they’ll be looking to kick-start their campaign.

Villa come into this one having turned a corner, however. They’re now unbeaten in five (despite losing on penalties in the Carabao Cup), with two wins in the Europa League and a win and a draw in the league.

Burnley have won just two of their eight competitive fixtures this season, with victories against Sunderland in the league and Derby County in the Carabao Cup, before being dumped out by League one Cardiff City. They’ll be hoping their form improves, or they’ll be facing relegation.

Aston Villa vs Burnley Predictions

BEST BET BUILDER TIP – Aston Villa to win @ 3/5

Villa have had an upturn in form recently and are unbeaten in their last five matches in 90 minutes, with their first league win coming against Fulham last weekend. Their last game was an away victory against a very strong Feyenoord side who are top of the Eredivisie after seven games, winning six and drawing one.

Burnley haven’t won a league game since the second day of the season when they defeated Sunderland. That was their only league victory so far, and I think Villa will have too much for them at home this weekend.

ALTERNATIVE BET – For higher odds, you could take Villa -1, meaning they have to win by more than one goal. They have done this in their last two competitive matches, and you can bet it at evens to boost the odds of this bet builder.

John McGinn 1+ shots on target tip (37/20)

Goals isn’t necessarily the thing that comes to mind when you think of John McGinn. Hard hitting tackles, breaking up play and shielding the ball are three attributes that would come to mind before his attacking prowess. That said, he has chipped in with a goal or two.

He has three goals to his name this season, with one in the Premier League and two in the Europa League. All of these goals have came in the last three games, with a goal in each. He has had six shots in the league this season, with two being on target. I think his recent goalscoring form will give him license to shoot, and he’s good odds to have one on target.

ALTERNATIVE BETS – if you fancy McGinn to make it four goals from four, you could back him to score anytime at 11/2.

Player to be carded tip – Lesley Ugochukwu (3/1)

Lesley Ugochukwu has been carded three times in five appearances this season, with a yellow and a red card in the league and a booking in the Carabao Cup. The midfielder doesn’t shy out of a tackle, making nine in five league appearances and committing eight fouls, an average just under 1.5 per game.

I expect this one to be a battle between two physical sides – especially in midfield – and Ugochukwu is a certainty to make a foul or two.

Player to be Carded tip – Matty Cash (4/1)

Matty Cash has also picked up three cards this season, with two in the league and one in the Europa League. He has picked up seven or more league bookings in four of his last five Premier League seasons.

This season, he has made six fouls in the league, an average of one per game. He will be coming up against Burnley’s main man, Jaidon Anthony, here, who has scored four of Burnley’s six goals in the league. Anthony has also picked up two bookings, so isn’t shy when it comes to getting physical. I think Cash is great odds at 4/1 for a card here.

If you want to take a different angle and play it slightly safer,  you could back Matty Cash to make over 1.5 fouls at 6/4.
