How the £40 Is Paid Out
The £40 arrives as four £10 free bet tokens once your qualifying bet settles:

All four tokens expire 7 days after being credited. They cannot be extended, so use them promptly during Festival week.

The BetMGM Queen Mother Champion Chase The feature race on Ladies Day — Wednesday 11th March — the Queen Mother Champion Chase is the two-mile championship chase and one of the most prestigious races of the Festival. The BetMGM Cup Handicap Hurdle New for 2026, BetMGM have taken over the naming rights of the Premier Handicap Hurdle on Ladies Day — the race known for over 30 years as the Coral Cup. Coral ended their sponsorship in January 2026 following the UK government’s decision to raise remote gaming duty from 21% to 40% from April 2026, ending a 51-year association with the Cheltenham Festival. BetMGM stepped in swiftly, making them the only bookmaker to sponsor two races on the same day at the Festival.

Using Your BetMGM Free Bets at Cheltenham
The two Sports free bets are the most valuable tokens for Cheltenham betting as they can be placed on any UK or Irish horse racing market as a win or each-way single.
Getting the most from the Sports tokens
As with all stake-not-returned free bets, the Sports tokens work hardest at bigger odds. A £10 free bet on a 2/1 shot returns £20 if it wins — but since the £10 stake is not included in winnings, you are £10 down versus a cash bet. At 5/1 or bigger, the free bet delivers meaningful value regardless of the stake not being returned.
