I’m backing the Reds to continue their fine form into the new year. I think they’ll make it five wins from five here against a Leeds side who are just six points above the relegation zone. It was a high-scoring draw when these two met just under a month ago – a 3-3 thriller at Elland Road – but I think Arne Slot’s side will come out on top here in this home fixture.

Florian Wirtz bagged his first Premier League goal for Liverpool since joining from Bayer Leverkusen last time out. I think he will have at least one shot on target after taking confidence from that goal. He has had 22 shots overall in the league, with seven shots on target. That’s an average of under 0.5 per game, but following his first goal, I expect him to kick on and start chipping in with more goals and assists for the second half of the season.

Leeds United midfielder Jayden Bogle has been carded four times this season, and I think there’s a good chance he will be booked again here. He has made 18 fouls in his 18 Premier League appearances, so he averages exactly one per game. He is likely to come directly up against Florian Wirtz here, who has been fouled 13 times this season. I think Bogle is decent odds to pick up his fifth card of the season in this one.
