Newcastle vs Brentford Predictions
We’re backing Newcastle to extend their high following their FA Cup victory with a win here over Brentford at St James’ Park. They have won six of their last 10 in all competitions, with six wins in their last 10 league matches. They have won half of their league matches, with 14 wins in 28, and won against Brentford last time out in the Carabao Cup quarter-final. Newcastle were also 2-4 victors over Brentford in their last league meeting, and I think they’ll win again here.
Bryan Mbuemo is always a threat up front for Brentford. He has scored 15 league goals in his 29 appearances this season, so more than a goal every two games. In the league, he has had 32 shots on target, giving him an average of over one per game. The Bees will create chances here, and despite not thinking they will win, I think Mbuemo has a great chance of having at least one shot on target.
Alexander Isak has had a great season so far, and I think he has an excellent chance of scoring or assisting in any game with his constant threat up top. He has bagged 23 goals for Newcastle this season, with 19 goals in 25 Premier League matches. He also has five assists to his name in the Premier League. He averages 0.76 goals per game in the league, and I think there’s a great chance he will either score or assist here.
Joelinton is the man we’re backing for a booking here. He has been carded 12 times in all competitions this season, with nine cards in 24 league appearances, two in the Champions League and one in the Carabao Cup. He has made a massive 51 fouls in the league, giving him an average of more than two fouls per game. He will definitely make a foul or two here, with his physical presence in midfield, and I think there’s a great chance of him being carded for the 13th time this season.
