Rangers travel to Amsterdam to face Ajax, as they look to regain form following their derby day humiliation at the weekend and we have three predictions for a bet builder on the match. It was a disasterous result for Rangers in the Old Firm on Saturday lunchtime but that will all be forgotton as they kick-off their tough Champions League group against Ajax in Amsterdam. The Dutch side have lost a few players over the summer but they’re very experienced in this competition and always have some fantastic talent on show. Rangers will be looking to recreate the results of last season’s run all the way to the Europa League final but these Champions League fixtures are on a whole new level.

Rangers travel to Amsterdam to face Ajax following their derby day humiliation at the weekend. The Gers have a good record in Europe of late, reaching the Europa League Final last year. However, I think this Ajax side will have too much for them at home. Having won all five of their league games, scoring 16 and conceding just three, Ajax are in great form, and I expect it to continue into this fixture.

Despite predicting Ajax to win, I still think Rangers will get a goal in this one. After losing heavily to fierce rivals Celtic last time out, Giovanni Van Bronckhorst’s side will be looking to make amends. They’ve scored six in their last three European matches, they’re a good bet to get on the score sheet on their visit to the Netherlands.

I expect Rangers to be up for this one after a heavy defeat at the weekend. They will be pushing forward, which means they are more likely to draw fouls, and they will leave themselves more exposed at the back, meaning they may have to make one or two professional fouls in recovery. The Gers are partial to a card in Europe, picking up 13 in their last four qualifying matches. Ajax are also partial to a booking, with five in their last three league matches.
